The sunrise and set times quoted by various sources are when it hits the horizon, which is a couple hours removed from when it pops up over the mountains. It's not totally dark yet by 5pm when I'm leaving work, but we've already had the sunset colours come and go by then. I'd say it starts getting light about 9-9:30, with the sun up over the mountains by 10:30 for sure. My memory from last year at the beginning of January was the sun cracking over the mountains at 11:30 and dropping back below right around 3. So yeah, 4, 5 hours, somewhere in there.

DirtyComanche Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 Went wheeling. The snow got deep on us at the end, and the air line for my rear locker split, so it got really slow. Surprisingly I was the only one with lockers so I broke the trail the entire way.

Took a pano down there the weekend before last. ... mostly because I was curious how much detail could be revealed in Photoshop (or similar) from pitch black photos. I haven't done much with that file yet though. I also took what I considered at the time to be hilarious video of me playing with shadows on the highway sign a couple hundred feet away thanks to some lights left on inside the Brewster building. And some photos of the ZJ parking next to a no parking sign that is too reflective to photograph.
