No just a wrench in a ring gear bolt and let the wrench bind against the housing while rotating the pinion. The mechanical advantage of the gears gives you the avility to push the carrier out of the housing. I found this guys tricks helpful. -

Put a wrench on a ring gear bolt and rotate the pinion. Your fighting bearing preload. This is where the pros would use a case spreader. -
Great story telling. Glad yo hear you found a booster.

Yes my breather system is intact and functioning. I still get seapage around the cap. I tried shimming the old gasket to no avail. Its either leaking or too tight to get back on the valve cover. -
Cylinder head thermostat housing boss broken
watchamakalit replied to fz1p5c's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Edit: I misread the post and thought the thermostat housing was broke. Not sure there is a good fix for this short of a head replacement. Being cast it will be difficult to repair. -
I can attest to this. I lost a nice turbine with a brand new 31" tire. Add a strap. The piece of mind is worth it.

I hope the new owner finds his way here. Looking forward to watching the new build for sure...... -
Brake line looks much better in that pic. It was all camera angle. Cowl hoods are just plain cool.
-
We were refering to the stainless line the axle vent is zip tied to. That stainless line should have some slack to account for suspension droop. In the picture it appears to be almost taught.
-
I just did leds in mine also. Its nice to see stuff in the truck. Especially with the 2 in the overhead console lit.

Something doesn't seem right with the load sensing valve. How is the valve mounted? The rod should vertical and the valve above the diff. to function correctly. I only ask because it can effect your braking abilities. Don't want you to go drive it for the first time and not be able to stop as quick as anticipated. -
wow those look great.

as long as the suspension doesn't droop it looks good......

So far all is well. I cut a load of firewood with it yesterday, and made it home safe. Lol. So far in really happy with the 4.10s. Although ive only put a few miles on them so far. There is one thing I can't live with and must addreess soon. Speedo is off. I didnt even think about changing speedo gears...... I think I need a 36 and it may have one on a shelf. Gonna have to go on a treasure hunt. -
