Its like christmas..... Gm pivot pin puller and lock plate removal tool arrived today too. Maybe I can finish the column tonight. Sure have been glad for the wj backup driver. Treated it too a full tank and a trip through the car wash. Maybe I can have my truck back by the weekend..... -
I think he was asking about the body kit that is missing. The street comanches all had fiberglass body kits that were exclusive to them.

watchamakalit replied to Melmoe's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Or if you really want the V8 I'd suggest an ls swap. -

Standard Motor Products S697 Pigtail/Socket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C81PJK/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_M2CF7GMGAQ653JR2077P I had a bad connector on mine a couple yrs ago. This is the route I went. I replaced all 6 with new connectors. I figured if one scrapped out the rest weren't far behind. -
I get a close as I could. Hood and expansion tank are kinda in the way. Hope this helps. I couldn't butt to the hood hinge so I hooked the hole in the firewall for the hinge.

Here is a good before and after. The untouched kickpanel looks like poop compared to the door trim. And after a few minutes of steam. Not great but good enough for a daily. -

Time for an update. The MJ is down awaiting parts. Coming home from work last week I noticed the tilt column was working loose. Not a big deal. Thats an easy evening fix, right? Apparently the snap ring that was replacing the lock spring retaining ring decided it was done. So I am currently waiting on a proper retaining clip to arrive. In the meantime I am taking g the opportunity to give the interior a thourough cleaning. I purchased a steam cleaner and a few cheap " detailing" accessories. The steamer has been a game changer for interior panels. Havent attacked the carpet or dash yet. Just focused on 35yrs worth of gunk on the plastics. -

AX15 External Slave Cylinder
watchamakalit replied to KANTANKRUS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That is the master cylinder for the clutch. The slave cylinder is either externally mounted on the trans., or internal to the bellhousing. -
I had planned on picking up about a month ago. Lol. It will probably be in the next 2 weeks.

Someone sounds angry over this truck.......

Are you refering to the round hole in the center of the picture? Thats where your starter mounts. The toothed disc is thhe flywheel and those teeth are where the starter engages to turn the engine.

Sorry they are sold.

Lots of good info out there. Its been done many times. Best start is a buy an entire donor xj.

Dreaded high idle

My cruise control was holding the throttle open slightly on mine. -
I think its can be swapped to the late model but not eliminated. I seem to remeber there is room to turn one down so the filter sits threads up, but not sure.
