  1. Following this build is making it hard for me to not cage up mine while it's stripped down. Thanks a lot!
  2. Mine had roll pins stock... they shouldn't work themselves out. Bigger question is how do you intend to drill out the chassis-side to install a bushing?
  3. I've considered this exact swap and quickly steered away because of the JK price gouge factor. $2k sounds about right. They shouldn't cost that much, but they're for a JK so they're gold plated
  4. Not just the S-10, all kinds of GM vehicles from the 80s - early 2000s. If they're different at all they would still be chock-full of donor parts; like all of them except the lower housing and the steering shaft...
  5. more pics/details on that visor??
  6. Very intrigued; please be sure to update frequently on how this goes.
  7. Good points. Bummer to hear the terminals in the bulkhead aren't something commonly replaceable I want to totally refresh it (and likely reconfigure much of it) when I do my engine swap; any recommendations?
  8. Aside from a 100% factory resto project, I'd be very interested as to why anyone would want to retain any of these "obsolete and proprietary connectors" if the opportunity existed to move on to a modern, commonly-available replacement... in my mind there's a reason they're obsolete Heck, I won't even use Weatherpack any more because Metripack is that much better, and if I weren't already balls-deep invested in that system I'd probably find that something newer like Deutsch or whatever is better yet. Interesting nonetheless.
  9. Very nice! Now get that power steering whine sorted out!
  10. Well, I'm committed now. To be honest, I'm almost a tiny bit sad... I won't be able to say "six in a row makes it go!" anymore
  11. Haha, that was genuine curiosity; I've heard of nothing but issues with them in the Libertys. That said, I hope your experience is better! It should be a fun rig either way. In the meantime that stroker should fit the bill quite nicely.
  12. Wait... I'm not seeing any word of what happened to the CRD? Did it grenade like they all do?
  13. Good find on those headers Keeps the updates coming!!
  14. This is a bit harsh but not far off. Do you have any mechanical skills or aptitude? How about tools and equipment? Budget? Friends that can help fill in the gaps where you lack somewhat (or completely)? How about a work area WITH STORAGE? (I currently have about 75% of my truck in my attic right now with the other 20% is strewn about my work space and it's gonna stay that way for another year at least). You obviously have interest, but how far are you willing to take it? Does the thought of totally failing at some certain part of this scare you (can you deal with failure)? Do you have the means to pay someone to complete what you find that you can't? Do you have sufficient free time to devote to this? While none of this "car stuff" is rocket science, cars do have quite a variety of systems that subsequently require background knowledge to repair them; electrical & electronics, hydraulics & plumbing, power transmission, paint & body, upholstery, and refrigeration just to name a few. It is a fair likelihood that you'll quickly become overwhelmed and discouraged with the project if you go straight for a complete restoration. I recommend taking a smaller "bite" to start with. What doesn't work on the truck? What DOES work? What makes you think there is a head gasket problem? - I recommend starting with this. Give yourself a chance at a victory, then build from there.
  15. Not ashamed to admit that I like agamble's approach better than mine.
  16. I like your method better! Very nice!
  17. Mine wasn't broken either, and I was hearing all kinds of popping noises from the front end.
  18. Hot damn that's an ALH. Very cool!! You'll have to share the gory details.
