  1. Short answer: I'm not sure yet. Long answer: I'm gonna remove the springs and see exactly how much up travel this clearance allows at the tire; if I'm unhappy with it I'll look into what fitment is like with the upper arm on the other side. If I move the upper arm to the passenger side then I can cut away the mounting ear on the housing. I don't think I want more lift at this point...
  2. This is the closest to it's final position I'll be able to figure at this time. Besides the minor concern with the compressor to axle distance, fits like it was meant to be there!
  3. My "fix some rust" project is getting... out of hand (in a good way ) It's getting a 3-link and TDi swap. Is it a candidate? Should it get a different thread for these parts of the project?
  4. Right side is similar (don't have the frame-side bracket completed yet)
  5. Progress update: Configuring the left engine mounts. Mounts themselves are non-hydraulic (cheap) versions of a Passat (B5?) part. I figured if the thing shakes obnoxiously then I can upgrade to the expensive version of them. Still some gusseting, trimming, and minor adjustments needed, but this is the basic idea.
  6. Info on these tweeters?
  7. This would be an enormous undertaking; nobody will stock that piece anyways. Also agree that you'd be lucky if the doors ever shut properly again on that thing (it would move a LOT with the whole floor out of it).
  8. Did you decide not to use the re-covered dash?
  9. The wife's JK came with halogen KC lights already installed; spot on the bumper and flood on the windshield. I didn't care for this arrangement so once they're go back on they'll be reversed. To me, the spot lights belong near the driver's eyes and the floods somewhere NOT next to the hood to reflect back at your face.
  10. Inspections are mainly the same way for us here. What isn't as good about the DOT ones?
  11. So... they're not actually legal for me to use on the road... why do I want these vs. the DOT ones? I actually ran across the ECE ones first and it looks like nobody stocks them right now.
  12. Have you looked in the filter yet? You should cut it open when you change it.
  13. Are these the Hellas we should be looking at? https://www.amazon.com/HELLA-003427291-190x132mm-Conversion-Headlamp/dp/B0002M9QRE?th=1
  14. The only LED headlamps I would consider are the Truck-Lite ones, though it looks like they've changed them. Problem is that they COST too much. Good to know about the Hella H4s
  15. Dang. This picture makes me want a sportbar
  16. More info on the powder coating setup ya got there!
  17. I've considered this, but wasn't sure if it's "tough" enough; specifically where the driver's feet sit (I wore out that area on mine when it had Herculiner over the whole floor). How many coats do you think you did? Which product did you use? They (now) have one product for heat and one for sound. As noted by other's, I would be hesitant to put anything other than a properly-applied coating of some kind on any surface where water can pool. What about some kind of glorified floormats? Carpet, vinyl, or whatever you want secured in some manner that's easy to remove but still gives some sound/heat protection. Might have to get creative keeping it from scooting around...
