Question about unit bearings?
Crash replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For Wilwood?Unless they recommend or specify a specific UB, all of the BB kits I know of use the 00+ UB. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk -

Question about unit bearings?
Crash replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
IIRC, using the 00+ UB is what you need to do. -
When are you gonna sell bolt-in taillight boxes? Haha if I did not already have steering box spacers it sounds like a good deal. I also kinda want LWB sliders but I am planning some some frame stiffeners first which slight changes the length that mounts to the frame. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk

If you want to level, do it. But I recommend an aftermarket quality TB/mount.

I'll have to check out BG44K myself. I've never heard of it. As for the Seafoam spray, I've only found it at Walmart but I recon Amazon has it. The parts stores don't seem to have it. It's just the regular formula of Seafoam but in aerosol form. It comes with a really long straw to feed into the intake tube. You can do the same thing by SLOWLY pouring the regular liquid Seafoam into the intake. I've also heard of people using a vacuum line from the intake stuck in the can so it sucks it out like a straw but I've got no experience with this method. Seafoam spray can be had at O'reilly, carquest/AAP, Napa etc. I usually do a half can of Berryman B-12 ( Seafoam is basically the same, just not been around as long and more expensive than B-12 ) through the brake booster line. Clean TB with TB cleaner. And use either B-12 or MMO in the tank. I have also used the BG stuff and Amsoil Pi

I agree with first statement. Your last statement, however, without a plate behind to support the load sounds like a bad idea. Unless you happen to be a small/lightweight person. Full armor makes more sense. , IMO. To counter the 'doesn't like full armor' , the armor could be painted body color to be practically invisible to most.

3/4 clusters were mostly complete gauge set, minus tach. Still had a large fuel gauge. Yeah, I figured that out now. Why? Who can live without a tach?> Some people can, and it's bettr than a full set of dummy gauges.

Best Carpet for 1988 Jeep Comanche
Crash replied to WolverineCub's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My MJ has the vinyl floor cover. I have though about pulling it, bedlining the floor and using some marine-grade carpet. -
Apologies for OT, but I believe I have one or 2 am/fm cass decks with inop cass.

2 or 4wd? Other than that, buy a running driving XJ/MJ and swap everything necessary. Rear driveshaft will not be plug n pray if you get an XJ donor
-
You could probably make one out of similar material. Otherwise, I will be doing a 4wd swap on my MJ soon and if it is intact can send you the one from my factory pukegoat

Check Engine light - Blink codes

If CEL is on, failiure is immenent (sp?). Since not OBD2, if the CEL is not illuminated longer than it's supposed to be upon starting and does not come on at all during test then it would be fine. -
I know there are a few people on naxja that have LS swaps that have done custom gauges.

I have parts store 'spectra' rads in my heeps. No issues. For heater Hoses you can vo one of two things. Either get HO molded hoses or get adapters and cut in splice mid hose. Universal reservoirs available at local parts store. Most times you can remove spring from old hose and put in new- 11 replies

Car Cranks but Won't Start Up
Crash replied to Comanchakazie's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There is this. Also, crank sensor, and asd relay can be culprit also. Attempt disco crank sensor and plug it back in, see if it fires -
They don't entirely, but the header fits with old fenders. Body line at the top is different though. Years ago, on my XJ I had just the panel for a bit before I got around to swapping fenders. As far as wiring, you can splice/the whole thing. Or just splce in the extra turn signal bulbs.

Couple of brake and steering questions.
Crash replied to Jeep Driver's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What is the bigger picture on this? You want stock width, stock bolt pattern, bolt in a housing (no changing brackets on the axle itself), with really big brakes? Why? What are you doing with it? It's going to be driven, hard. I just wanted to swap knuckles for 'big brakes'. I want Brembos and 14" rotors..........just what I want, but may have to settle for 4pot WIlwoods. Hey, if Jay Leno uses Wilwoods........... :P I believe I have a pair of early knuckles on a cad 30 in my back yard, if interested.
