coheed
Here's a different kind of earning its keep. It acted as my bed, kitchen, and shower for over 3200 miles on a camping trip from NC to CO and back. Aside from the 2.8 being abysmal on any kind of incline and above 6000' elevation, Squirrelly Dan carried me faithfully almost across the US and back with no complaints. 89 MJ
Used one MJ to move a trailer full of MJ parts so I could empty them into the back of the other MJ. The trailer also had an ATV in it. It was still about 3” off of the bump stops.

DesertRat1991
Managed to fit 26 bales of pine straw under the cap... Then, popped the top off to haul mulch. I have the guy dump a full yard right on top of my 5gal buckets which makes unloading a breeze. It's the quickest and least back-breaking way to dump each load right where I need it so I can run back for more. She hauled 6yds total without breaking a sweat. 87MJTIM
I have the General Springs, also. I have not tested them like that - yet. I have the opportunity to get some firewood. I figured I would test the springs then.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. mine are beat and tweaked, I'm getting a used set from Pete that should be in far better shape then mine.. I was looking at getting mt ones but shall see how a fresh pack will work and I'll use my old pack to add a couple of leafs if need be. Then I'm thinking airbags as I use my truck like you...got wood? 😁

That is a helluva load! My OE MT springs will need replacing at some point, they've lived a good life. Did you have to custom order those from General? I know they make MT springs and have heard they will add lift to them if requested.

We hear solely with wood and burn roughly 1 cord a year. As to the springs. They make a special set. The only place I've seen them listed is here. I'll do some searching and see if I can find the part # It sets pretty much level when empty with 4.5" re front springs.
