  1. You might need to swap to the sending unit for the 23 gallon tank though, if I recall correctly.
  2. I think 84-89 had the long ones and 90-96 had the short style ones.
  3. If I were you, I’d pull the engine, disassemble it, measure everything, and see if you could just get away with a dingleball hone, seals, and bearings. If that’s the case, I’d just do a stock rebuild. If the crank would need turned, then I’d go stroker, but that’s just me.
  4. Are you wanting to keep the manual or the auto?
  5. @ThreeComanches, do you know?
  6. Did you make sure your TPS is adjusted properly? These Renix Jeeps take a little bit longer to start than a newer vehicle.
  7. Aftermarket gauge pod installed so I could mainly keep an eye on coolant temp and oil pressure. According to the gauge, it makes 80lbs of oil pressure at cold idle.
  8. The 2.5L really is a great little engine.
  9. I’m on multiple times a day. Don’t always have something to say though.
  10. I think I’ve got one sourced already, thank you.
  11. Looking for a center console insert for my bucket seat swap. Doesn’t need to be an MJ specific piece, but that would be a plus. Shipped to 54636 or picked up around there.
  12. The AX-15 crossmember is supposed to be roughly 1/2” lower in the center than the other transmissions.
  13. I would lean towards it being the headlight switch or a bad contact somewhere then. When you have the headlights on and you rotate the knob, that is your instrument light dimmer.
  14. What happens when you rotate the headlight knob?
  15. Wow! It really does
  16. Always nice to see updates on this truck
  17. Correct. I think. I’m not a 2.5L expert haha. This is correct. You will need to find the parts, which can be tricky. That’s said, they don’t seem to really have any issues, so I don’t think you need to worry about much breaking.
  18. How much does it bounce? Some of it will just be the nature of having a speedo cable. You could go with the boxy Jeep electric speedo conversion. https://boxyjeep.com/products/87-90-electric-speedometer-conversion-full-kit?variant=50337911210295
  19. Local FB group famous
  20. Some of this depends on what year external slave stuff you’re after. The 84-86 XJs were also external slave. This thread might help you a little bit if you’re interested in going the early route:
  21. Must be gone already
  22. That could be a good price, depending on the quality of the work.

It is a metal tag. Should be near the driver side hood hinge.
  24. I’m not saying for sure that is the issue, but it could’ve slipped and might be at least partially responsible.
