How did you determine these parts need replacing? I bet if anything, the IAT just needs cleaning and the ISA might need adjusting.

Looking for a power steering pump cap like the one pictured. Apparently they are specific to 87-90 Jeeps with I6s. Dorman stopped making them, but the part number is 82585. The Chrysler number is 83505415. I've tried ordering a few off of eBay and the order ends up getting cancelled because it isn't actually in stock. That said, does anybody have one? I'm fine with new or used in good shape.

I hope you pulled up the vinyl flooring too to check out the condition of the floors. I don't think I've ever seen a truck with the vinyl floor that didn't need floor work. Looks like a pretty good truck though. Also, what makes you think that it was two wheel drive originally? I believe that 86s still had the NP207 and the cable actuator on the front axle could have just been to delete the factory CAD stuff.

I don’t think anyone thinks that your clutch itself is bad, there’s just most likely issues with the hydraulic system.

It might even depend on the agent too. My parents had an appraisal that was then the agreed value through State Farm.

I’m leaning towards fuel pump being on its way out. After restarting, it is giving the fuel pump a chance to prime the system again.

I was going to ask about this. It looked a little wide. Should be super nice for keeping things shaded and dry.

Mine is the same way, except it’s notchier when it’s cold. It’s been this way since it was rebuilt 10-15k miles ago. Reverse grinds because it doesn’t have a synchro. The only time my reverse doesn’t grind is when I sit stopped for a second, then go for reverse. I haven’t tried your 4th to R trick though.

I'm back in AZ, so the truck is parked again, but I wanted to give some thoughts on the rocker bases in the seats. The seats themselves are the same as any standard XJ or MJ bucket. I do sit 2-3" higher in the rocker base buckets than I did in the bench. I don't think that I sit too high though. My line of sight is mostly out of the upper half of the windows, which I prefer. I also swapped in my tilt column, but there is room between my legs and the steering wheel with the column straight.

If I remember correctly, the AX-15 is supposed to take full synthetic 10W-30. I think a lot of people use the Redline though.

I am also leaning towards the clutch not fully disengaging. Like they said, check the fluid level and try bleeding the clutch. Depending on how many miles are on the transmission, it might be getting to where it needs synchros though.

Grille parts have been dropped off at the chrome shop. The spreading of filler has begun on the cab. Fiberglass filler over anywhere that had welding done, then just a skim coat over everything else to get it perfect.
