  1. Agreed. I think they look the best when the back of the door opening matches the factory MJ door opening.
  2. At the end of the day, it could be such a thing that the color of dye that AMC|Jeep used changed over time.

Good looking truck! Be sure to start a build thread on it so we can keep up with the progress.
  4. Me too! It was in @yellaheep's old dually thread and I had saved the picture a while back.
  5. We just use lighters/an aim and flame in my household. Careful not to burn the plastic on the wires.
  6. Golly, that's a pretty truck! And that 2 door XJ
  7. Sounds like the timing could be off, but I'm not sure how. That was an issue with my blue truck when we swapped the motor--the timing was 180 degrees off and it wouldn't start.
  8. Were those the chrome power mirrors you got from me? You’ve had those ones for a while, glad to see they are getting installed!
  9. @Pete M, please move this. Tis is looks like it will be a very cool build! I like how you made the rear door fit the factory Comanche B Pillar.
  10. This is the only case that I do it.
  11. The inside of my dads YJ is bedlined with Raptor and the floor mats don’t move much or at all in that.
  12. The only way to go is up! I could take a couple of pictures of our topper/bumper racks that we have at work if you need ideas, but I’m sure you could get the concept without pictures.
  13. I’d probably hang out in the non-cool crowd (MJs, XJs, the real Jeeps). The main reason I asked was to get an idea compare to the Back to the Fifties car show (10,000+ cars).

Happy to help. You look like another young guy. Are you high school or college age?

What Pete said. If you are doing a 3” lift, you will probably be running 31” tall tires. You will want 4.10 gears then.
  16. Or, you spend 15 grand making it legal and overland ready and you live in the Jeep, best of both worlds, with the exception of running water, indoor plumbing, etc., etc.,
  17. That’s kinda what I was thinking—that’s ok for my family though, because my mom has a JKU she is slowly building.

I do have the 8.8 swapped into my truck. I used one out of an Explorer Sport Trac, so it was about an inch wider than a regular 8.8 and has drums. It was very worth it because I upgraded gearing while I was at it. No brake line extension is necessary with 3” or lift. You could probably do an 8.8 swap in a weekend if you had all of the parts already.
  19. I love vice grips, especially the needle nose ones. They are also great at pinching off rubber fuel line so it won't leak. I'm sure it would work with brake lines too.
  20. Yup, that's going to be very pretty!
  21. We have only been doing a Hybrid model (2 days in, 3 days out of school) for 1 week now. We went 11 months (including summer) strictly virtual. It sucked.
  22. At my school district, we build them in to the yearly schedule, and if we don't use them, then we just have 2 extra days of school that year.
  23. I believe that @Tex06 is down in LA

I think you should step back and decide what you want this truck to look like long term. We can help advise you from there. If you are going to do anything except keep the truck bone stock, or very close to it, then you should be looking at upgrading your whole axle. If you want to lift it and add big tires, you will need to change your brake lines anyways.
