  1. Right now, he is hoping to get the truck looking like this, but it will have the muscle grille.

What would his plans be for the truck?

I'm sure a well experienced person or two could convert a Comanche to 4wd in a weekend, everything is pretty much bolt in.
  4. A fuel pump went out in one of the tractors. I replaced it with another OEM one that I had, but it leaks, so a fuel pump rebuild is coming soon. And I think they both are leaking hydraulic fluid.

Not very hard at all. They came in 4cyl MJs, XJs, and YJs (remember the T-case is clocked differently on a YJ)
  6. I would have a hard time not bringing that thing to Japan, but I'm guessing it would be VERY expensive to get it there.
  7. I'm sure it would be fine on the interior, but it does seem to be a little slippery, it doesn't seem to have the same traction that the paint had. I wouldn't say its slippery to a point that you wouldn't want to stand in it and you don't even ever worry about falling, you will just notice that the traction isn't quite the same.

On the flip side, wouldn't it be kinda weird for you and your buddy to basically have the same truck? I do have a few friends that own Comanches, and don't think it is weird that we own Comanches, but we were Comanche guys before we were friends. None of my Comanche friends go to my school either--in fact, I think there is only 1 or 2 XJs at my school.
  9. @Minuit, what are your thoughts on this truck? I am skeptical, but I am not sure if I am rightfully skeptical or not.

Yuppers, a trans, T-case, driveshafts, and front axle, plus the shifter stuff. A J Truck will not compete with an MJ offroad, nor will it ride as nice or get good fuel economy--I know this from experience. For a high schooler, there isn't much reason to get a fullsize truck, especially considering that a properly equipped MJ (Metric Ton truck) had the same towing capacity as a J10.
  11. The tow mirrors do look good! It is this picture that shows that the truck is wet. It is possible that it rained, but I'm still skeptical of it.

No issues with a 4cyl 2wd. Look at @mnkyboy's truck. That is one of the baddest trucks on the forum and is just a 4cyl. Plus, a 4x4 swap is easy (ish)
  14. Nope, the blue one is sticking around, but V2 is coming of the blue truck in the spring.
  15. Might as well get a rebuild kit and an AX-15 while you're at it--no sense in replacing the head gasket twice. I'd just wait and either swap it when you hit 400K with your rebuild or rebuild it when the head gasket goes out.
  16. I don't think it would be worth doing that, I think most of us do not have IG. I do follow this team on FB too.
  17. Just seeing this now. I gotta keep you on your toes! It will probably change again come spring. OP, I feel like we need to see more pictures of this beauty!
  18. I love the Raptor liner in my truck. It's done its fair share of truck stuff (hauling wood, golf clubs, band equipment, and 2 sets of GTO doors) and it still looks very good, it has a couple of scuffs from being used, but when you consider what I have hauled, I think that it looks excellent still.
  19. I'm curious as to why they took pictures of the truck wet. You can see that the roof and topper are wet in some of the pictures and parts of the engine bay look wet as well, along with the water that has dripped on the ground. It being wet just brings up a lot of questions in my head. Maybe it was just dirty, but why was such a nice truck so dirty? It doesn't look like it was used a lot. I would be willing to guess that this truck isn't as nice in person as it looks in the pictures--look at the Jeep lettering on the mudflaps. Also, the bottoms of the hood in all of my trucks have been painted, but mine were all build under Chrysler's ownership so maybe not painting all of the bottom of the hood was an AMC thing or this one just didn't get painted under the hood all the way. I'm also curious about the firewall--it just seems to show a lot of wear on the paint and the hardware--maybe that part just didn't get wet for the pictures.
  20. Camper/MJ tow rig, if money were no object.
  21. They probably spent too much time in the shop to get used like trucks.
  22. It doesn’t sit quite right in the bed—yet
  23. Oh OSHA would love me. Is old pastime of mine better?
  24. Which floor jack shouldn’t I be trusting? The front one or the rear one? I have since wisened up about jack stands.
  25. Says the guy who wouldn’t get an AX-15 when it was cheap to swap into his AUTO truck On a side note, I don’t think my Sportbar is true and straight. The fit just seems...off. But it was also -5 today, so I wasn’t going to look at it a ton while it’s in cold storage. Once it gets up in the 20s or 30s, I will start looking at it some more.
