  3. Driveway Ornament To Daily Driver A really quite long build thread by Minuit The Beginning: March-November 2012 Why hello there, viewer! If you're reading this for the first time, I think I should probably explain some things first. This build is now entering its fifth sixth year. It started shortly before I turned 16 years old, and I had absolutely no prior mechanical experience, so keep this in mind when reading the first few pages. I can say with absolute certainty that some of the things you see early on in this build were not properly done and sh
  4. https://hartford.craigslist.org/pts/d/broad-brook-1988-jeep-comanche-pick-up/7018481302.html We have had this truck for almost 20 years to clean up around our yard after the main snowplowing was done.It 's a 88 Comanche 4x4 Pioneer. 84,000 original miles. 4.0L 6 cylinder, 5 Speed transmission."NOT FIT FOR THE ROAD".Rusty and Rotted in the floor and the unibody.Always ran good until we parked it last year. Appears to need a starter (Broken wires from starter solenoid), a battery and a brake line. Has 6.5' Meyers plow. Faded paint, dents scrapes etc. Thanks for looking.$1,200 OBO8-6-0
  5. Finally joined the Comanche club a couple months ago. This is a 1988 4.0 5-speed 4x4 with 180k on the odo. Exactly, what I had been searching for... a shortbed, 4wd, manual with a 4.0. Currently, I am wrestling with some electrical gremlins and goblins. Learning Renix has been interesting, to say the least. Not on the road just yet but, once I am finished sorting out the wiring it should be good to go.
  6. Hey Guys, I recently moved to CT and recently inherited my Dad's '87 Sportruck (local to GA for 30 years). Zero rust, 107K original miles!! It's a gem - all original, never wrecked except a small ding (L/R Qtr). However, I am missing some trim pieces and a Comanche emblem. Can someone point me to a place I can find OEM Comanche trim without scouring the local junk yards? Thanks!!
  7. Well guys, I've added yet another Jeep to the fleet... 1988 Jeep Comanche SporTruck short-bed, 5-speed (Peugeot with ~260k.. eek!), 2WD with a DANA 44 and SUNROOF! Guy I bought it from said it's overheating and he's replaced the water pump, thermostat and flushed the radiator... He thinks the head gasket is blown or cracked head... Thing is, there's no water in the oil and it's not blowing steam out of the exhaust... I think he didn't burp the closed cooling system correctly when he changed out the reservoir. Oh well, it's mine now and I've already obtained a spare 4.0 from a '97 XJ w
  8. Hey, so i just picked up my first Comanche, its a 1987 4x4 2.5L 5 spd. sporTruck in red. It's a project to say the least, but I'm excited none the less. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and have all the tools and access to most of the machines to do most of what I need to, only major problems being: 1: Funds 2: Minor access to heated building to work on it in the frigid Illinois weather as my garage is not heated and my dads garage has two cars in the front heated garage and 3 cars in the heated shop in the back yard :fs1: he has more projects than me I think It has a few issues th
  9. I have pulled what I want and here is what is left besides a box or two of misc. MJ chassis. It has some rust in floor boards. Someone tried to patch passenger side. I don't see any other rust besides that. Ready for your choice of motor and axles. Comes with cherokee electric doors and drivers fender. Interior is stripped besides seat. No bed or tailgate. I Have title for it. Located in Pyatt, AR $250 I would do some trading let me know what you have. I could use a nice bumper or wheels. Thanks!
