I have been lurking on here for a couple of months now and I decided I should start my build thread. I have an 89 Sportruck with a 4.0, pukegoat, 4x4. It is a southern truck that was brought up north a couple of years ago. I bought it a few months ago. Here are some pics of when I got it:
A couple of summers ago my father, brother and I tore apart my dad's 95 YJ Wrangler that had a 4 cyl and a 5 speed. Here is what it looked like once the rust got cut out and test fitting the engine: Here it is with the frame, body, and firewall painted. The interior got a spray-in raptor bedliner. It was on 235s. Then we put the front fenders, grille, and rock-sliders on. It has the original steel body and the frame has been patched. Then we put the windshield and flares on. Hey, so i just picked up my first Comanche, its a 1987 4x4 2.5L 5 spd. sporTruck in red. It's a project to say the least, but I'm excited none the less. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and have all the tools and access to most of the machines to do most of what I need to, only major problems being: 1: Funds 2: Minor access to heated building to work on it in the frigid Illinois weather as my garage is not heated and my dads garage has two cars in the front heated garage and 3 cars in the heated shop in the back yard :fs1: he has more projects than me I think It has a few issues th
So I haven't been on here in ages but I've finally had a chance to poke around with my old MJ (1991 Pioneer that I did a motor swap with a 2000 wrangler) Both 4.0 HOs. Ran fine years ago when I parked her until I had a high dollar Viper alarm put on. Finally finished taking that off and trying to start her up and shake her down (last ran in 2009-2010) and successfully pull started her with tractor on first try (started wouldn't work until after running for a few minutes). My starter problem makes me think it's possibly the crank position sensor since it's an intermittent problem but I am certa
