  1. do we get to see pics of the new digs?
  2. Concept truck from the early years of the MJ.
  3. in its defense, it still got me home. maybe 30 miles of ear-splitting (I had a finger shoved in my right ear) screaming gears after the oil all drained out... and eventually the last 10 miles stuck in 3rd... but I did get home.
  4. there was a fair bit of anger involved.
  5. this is its current resting place. I smashed it apart with a sledge hammer and made art with its guts!
  6. as long as this thread deals with news and what's happening and stays away from conspiracy theories and fear mongering, it's all good. real bad stuff is appening right now and there's no ban against sharing it. But as soon as we start getting into the "why"s, I gotta put my foot down because that starts arguments and all the drama. I don't care if the world really is coming to an end, I want the CC to stay civil and as cheerful as we can. this is a respite from the rest of the world's problems. or at least as much as we can be. There are plenty of other places where you can engage others with who's right and who's wrong and what the fixes should be.
  7. J+W is known to be kinda pricey.
  8. ouch. that's a big chunk of change. but it is just money. if you've got the cash, and it's worth it to you, and you can't find any others to buy, maybe make him a counter offer. car-part.com might be able to find something for ya. be sure to look for XJ 44s too, since they are a different part number but are essentially the same thing but with different bracketry.

and there are truck guys bragging about their 15k winches.
  10. is the video from when you first fired it up? or after it's hit operating temp? If you have no idea when the o2 sensor was last changed, it might not be a horrible thing to replace it just because.
  11. don't worry, the software will shrink them automatically before saving. but it does sometimes hiccup on big files , so you may need to load one at a time.
  12. we're finally living in the future!
  13. back in the day Jeeps came with good transmissions. you know, before Chrysler started putting their own in. The AW4 and AX-15 are fantastic transmissions. you'll be happy with either. The Peugeot is... a transmission. Made of metal. Has some gears inside. Shifter knob sticking out the top. In its defense, mine lasted over 150k miles. buuuuut, then it blew up one day while just cruising along in rush hour traffic. like literally blew a hole out the side of the trans near 5th gear. wasn't even shifting at the time. I would never turn down an otherwise nice truck that had one, but I would be planning for that AX-15 swap in the near future.
  14. looks good I can't tell from the image, is it attached to more than just the 3 bumper bolts? have you added Honey Babies to the beer thread yet?
  15. that's what the build threads are for. be sure to tell you stories!
  16. 88 was all Peugeot. on march 10th of 89 is when they started using the AX-15 and it was internal slave through 94ish, well after the end of the MJ. what you should do with you money depends a lot on what specifically is broken. clutch parts are one thing, internal damage to the Peugeot is entirely different. another factor is what you plan to do with the truck. a daily driver has different requirements than a rock bouncer.
  17. there are a lot of people I'd like to go back in time and say thanks for their invention. that probe is definitely on the list.
  18. redrilling is a thing. I don't necessarily recommend it, but it is a thing.
  19. If you're new to MJs, this thread is a great read
  20. I've been trying to plan a trip out to Texas this year. Maybe that's a good time and I can swing by to say hi.
  21. I believe Rob sent it to him? can't remember. it was like 6 years ago.
  22. stay safe everyone!
  23. I reused my '88 peugeot clutch with my '00 AX-15.
  24. the only qualification is that you're making a new product (as opposed to selling used parts)
