  1. what a gorgeous survivor! be sure to start a build thread and share all the details!
  2. just as awesome as I remember it
  3. it's not as crazy as you might think. a 2.5/auto came with 4.56 stock
  4. my suggestion is to use studs for the top 2 bolts. they help as guides for re-installation of the transmission
  5. score? why wouldn't you run the good stuff?
  6. 01 would be the first year for the NV trans. I have a 2000 TJ AX-15 in my 88. yes, the trans clocks the t-case up a bit, but I appreciate the additional ground clearance so I kept it as-is. you'll need the bellhousing and its guts for sure. and you'll want an XJ AX-15 crossmember for the slight drop in the middle (a crossmemebr drop can be added to accomplish the same task but at the cost of an inch of ground clearance lost). and you'll likely want to source an XJ shifter handle/tower. I used the TJ parts in mine and the shifter gets waaaay close to the dash. I still run it though. I used the 304 pilot bushing.
  7. some things should remain original for originality's sake. other things should be replaced with a brand spanking new unit. I tend to put the radiator in the second category. cooling and brakes should be up to snuff for a driver.
  8. we did the same on the durango. (though it was challenging to find an AWD with low range that hadn't seen snow yet. I found one in NC that had originally been sold in TN). Combine that with the extended warranty and you can save a TON of cash while having the maximum piece of mind. oh, and the warranty is transferable one time, so if we ever sold the R/T it would be a huge selling point.
  9. still gorgeous
  10. 4: take way more pictures
  11. short answer is, take everything from the engine bay of the XJ and swap it over.
  12. we have the sister rig, an awd 16 Durango R/T (just under 100k now) and so far there's been a wiring issue in the front headlight, a bad front axle shaft, and a handful of random software issues (for example the memory seat buttons stopped functioning). aside from that she's been a great addition to the family. The lifetime Mopar Warranty goes a long way to ease our minds about this complicated beast. I highly recommend it!
  13. holy crap! the roads were all fine, except for that truck-swallowing pothole full of water. ya know, except for that one little thing. yeah, so I would need the Dept of Transportation to buy me a new Comanche...
  14. feels like a big bad voodoo daddy kind of night
  15. color matching is overrated when you have a white boat upside down on your roof
  16. well than carry on carrying on and paint that truck. I wanna see more of that red!
  17. what a time to be alive. a little typity-type and a BAM a rare item you need is on its way to your doorstep. no muss, no fuss.
  18. maybe take some time off and sit in the yard to watch the sun drift on by? every brain needs a break now and again.
  19. dang! I just wanna jump in and tool around town in that thing!
  20. got the posters today! but the tint is off and the crop is off. so now I gotta get that fixed and re-sent.
  21. unfortunately there are some hiccups that occur in the uploading process. most times it works just fine, but occasionally it doesn't like too many at once, or sometimes it just doesn't like to let you "drop" them and makes you do it the ol' fashioned way (clicking "choose files"). I can't seem to get a hold of Kryptronic to see what the cause might be.
  22. 06 KJ CRD but there are days I miss having my old 97 chyrsler minivan
