I would take them apart and run a tape measure over the bits to see what's up. if the input shaft is too long (that's what she said) I imagine you can trim it a bit.

and I don't have to disassemble disk brakes to clean out the mud. C-clip eliminators are not all that necessary on an 8.8 as it's rather difficult to snap one of those axle shafts

looks great! if you're looking to move on to the cab, be extra sure not to plug any of the drain holes in the rockers, or doors

you'll want to aask that in the Tech forum so more eyeballs will see it. short answer, buy a whole XJ. the 2 systems share very little.

600 horses is never cheap unless you're already a master fabricator (which itself has cost to get there). having said that, turbos are fun

so the options I see are: -sell to this guy -drop on auction site -take with you to Japan and be known as that badass american with the badass Jeep either way it needs to be driving, yes? how close are you to that? have you looked into what it takes to register it in Japan? it looks like any other PT cruiser in fact, it looks like this one oh, and I forgot about the half-filled-with-water taillight I discovered not long ago. you'll get a build thread if I ever do something interesting to it, not a moment before.

yup, cheap is what I would call it. less than 100k and I've already replaced all of the rubber bits in the front suspension and engine mounts plus that bearing and cooling fan. oh, and the AC compressor ate itself. plus still fighting a random low idle speed. good times.

yup. it was my grandma's car. like the KJ, I keep it going through sweat and sheer will power. this time the KJ needed more willpower than I could muster so I focused on the PT to get it freeway friendly again (needed new lower arm bushings and a wheelbearing) so I could drive up to MI for some dental work. fun times. lol. also:

so I drove 24 hours inside of a week in a PT Cruiser with a CD changer. what did I bring with me? any of my plethora of albums of CDs? nope. I'm so spoiled by spotify that it completely skipped my mind and thus I had what was in the changer. 2 custom old school rock CDs (doors, Zepp, Stones, etc), 3 super old-school blues compilations and my favorite Canadian Brass album. no complaints here
