    before you get too deep into this, is there anything else we might add to each thread? paint colors? although paint might be easier by running searches for each code.

    the good news is that even if you burnt up the entire transmission, most any year AW4 can be used with a little work. the link in my signature has a link to all the swappability.

    I too would start with dropping the pan and inspecting what's in the fluid and filter. continuing to drive when the tranny or engine is clearly having issues can be a harsh lesson to learn.

    quality is only part of the pricing equation. quantity is another. and there are a LOT of them reaching the upper limits of their "cheap" (meaning low maintenence) lifespan right now. with a glut of them on the market, prices drop.

    the AW4 is one of the best automatics ever made.

    anything driven in the salt will get there eventually. but yeah, buying your rigs from down south will give you a few years before they get bad.

    check the track bar bracket for movement and check the frame for cracking between that bracket and the steering box. very common points of noise.

    I do believe I've defeated the demons. it was a combination of the software and a faulty HDMI adapter (of course HP needed to have a custom plug back in the day ). all is well now!

    I've own a lot of MJs in my day, but living in Michigan, the vast majority were rotted hulks of their former self. must be nice to have a set and know they aren't going to fall apart on you in the next couple years. jealous!
