easy, I hadn't deleted the paint description yet
  2. would this be a good time or a bad time to mention that a member very recently discovered that the relay cover clips might be a Ford part found on late 80s trucks? the picture on ebay looks remarkably similar but no way of knowing until I can get to a junkyard to confirm (I'm not paying 35 bucks to find out). fingers crossed for friday.
  3. the only way I can store them is upright on the front end. otherwise I can't deal with them. they are heavy and I'm only one dude.
  4. we shall see come springtime. starting to run out of room to store the things. not a problem I really ever thought I'd have.

    wood stoves

it's an art and a science. I really thought I had mastered the art side of things, but the past few days I've really struggled to keep a fire going without resorting to cracking open the ash door for fresh air. it was really frustrating. so today I took the back heat shield of the stove off and sure enough, the chain connected to the internal damper had fallen off. I'm not entirely sure what that chain moves inside the bottom of the stove (there's a separate chain for the thermostat flapper), but I repaired it and today's fire is roasty-toasty so it was clearly something important. part art, part science, and this time it was a science (engineering) failure.

with 31s he's going to want 4.56 at least. 4.10 was stock with 27" tires. whatever you do, don't regear a dana 35.
  7. ouch! yeah, I bet a house would be easier to live out of.
  8. If I can start selling them at 2k I'm rich!

bigger tires make your engine work harder and it'll feel like you lost horsepower. lower gear ratios (higher numerically) give a mechanical advantage back to the engine. finding the right ratio for your tire/trans/engine combo can give your Jeep quite the kick in the pant when it comes to acceleration.

the link in my signature has the method for factory brake bleeding. it's different than most cars so you have to do all teh steps or you won't get all the old fluid out. also in there should be links to the disk brake conversion
  11. the world is definitely different than when I was a kid. mostly for the better though. but yeah, I feel your pain on not getting a snow day. it was truly one of the best parts of being a kid!
  12. just a shadow
  13. yup. thanks for the heads up!
  14. #12. I think this one is the keeper. it'd look super sweet on my trailer since it matches my new 88 right down to the pioneer decals and rubber trim (though it's missing on the one side). some damage to the one rear corner but other wise in decent shape.
  15. they are super tough motors. I would try a new gasket before getting too crazy. after that, just about any year of 4.0 can work for you which should open up lots of used motors as an option.
  16. she looks good with that low COG as I've been finding out first hand with my Liberty, "mounted" is different than "driving", which is different than "wheeling". but I just keep trimming and smashing things until the tires fit
  17. what are the switches for?

  20. not if it fits in that moving crate
  21. it is very common for people to snap pics after a wash, even if they are not selling the truck. I know if I was trying to get near 10 grand for it, I'd want it to be as clean as possible. your suspicion might stem from all those other trucks we've seen where they were asking a ton of money but couldn't even be bothered to clean the trash off the floor.

the metric ton and the tow package are 2 different packages. and yes, to legally tow 5k you need to have the tow package. just being an MT won't cut it.
  23. very few of the images have been altered so finding more info on them should be as simple as a photo search on google.
