  1. #12. I think this one is the keeper. it'd look super sweet on my trailer since it matches my new 88 right down to the pioneer decals and rubber trim (though it's missing on the one side). some damage to the one rear corner but other wise in decent shape.
  2. they are super tough motors. I would try a new gasket before getting too crazy. after that, just about any year of 4.0 can work for you which should open up lots of used motors as an option.
  3. she looks good with that low COG as I've been finding out first hand with my Liberty, "mounted" is different than "driving", which is different than "wheeling". but I just keep trimming and smashing things until the tires fit
  4. what are the switches for?
  5. needs a bit of tlc but SCORE nonetheless!!

  7. not if it fits in that moving crate
  8. it is very common for people to snap pics after a wash, even if they are not selling the truck. I know if I was trying to get near 10 grand for it, I'd want it to be as clean as possible. your suspicion might stem from all those other trucks we've seen where they were asking a ton of money but couldn't even be bothered to clean the trash off the floor.

the metric ton and the tow package are 2 different packages. and yes, to legally tow 5k you need to have the tow package. just being an MT won't cut it.
  10. very few of the images have been altered so finding more info on them should be as simple as a photo search on google.
  11. Rustys suffered from quality issues early on (case in point I bought their 3" coils and track bar bracket in '05 and the coating was disintegrating within a couple months and gone within a year), but they have come a long way in recent years. back in the day they were outsourcing the springs (but the coatings were done in-house). not sure what they are doing now. I do like my spring rate.
  12. why would you need to replace the pitman arm?
  13. lol. for some reason it's hilarious to me that someone might actually line the inside of their bed with a bedliner.
  14. disconnected the exhaust at the downpipe, undid all the fuel lines and wires, and picked the whole thing off the engine. just picking it up a couple inches showed me that the number 2 piston had disintegrated so I just yanked it the rest of the way off. but I've no doubt I could have swapped out a gasket assuming I didn't need to clean the steel much. where there's a will, there's a way. I do NOT like dealing with rusty header bolts!
  15. just needs a bit o' sprucing up and she'll be ready for camping or prom night rental or whatever.
  16. no such thing as "best" without knowing your goals for the truck. and the 9" is overrated. pick your front axle first, then find an appropriate rear axle. rears are easy to choose.
  17. I once pulled the head on a 96 4.0 and didn't even have to remove the intake/exhaust headers. mine wasn't just a blown gasket though.
  18. the only one with the MJ pattern will be a TJ Rubicon 44. try car-part.com and be prepared for a little sticker shock.

  20. I have a feeling that partially because they were the least likely to be thrashed all their lives, and also because people with a super clean 4.0 are hanging on to them.
  21. here's a decent starting point. I'd wager there are youtube vids out there too. https://www.americanmuscle.com/buying-a-foxbody-mustang.html
