  1. If I were to do it, I’d use all of the advance adapters parts linked in this video:
  2. Oh wow, that’s close! I wouldn’t be comfortable with that either. Plus it just sounds like a reason to get stopped frequently.
  3. Ugh, that is terrible. I’m hoping to see you rebuild it in the future.
  4. I was going to ask about this. It looked a little wide. Should be super nice for keeping things shaded and dry.
  5. Mine is the same way, except it’s notchier when it’s cold. It’s been this way since it was rebuilt 10-15k miles ago. Reverse grinds because it doesn’t have a synchro. The only time my reverse doesn’t grind is when I sit stopped for a second, then go for reverse. I haven’t tried your 4th to R trick though.
  6. Wow! That’s exceptionally bad.
  7. I'm back in AZ, so the truck is parked again, but I wanted to give some thoughts on the rocker bases in the seats. The seats themselves are the same as any standard XJ or MJ bucket. I do sit 2-3" higher in the rocker base buckets than I did in the bench. I don't think that I sit too high though. My line of sight is mostly out of the upper half of the windows, which I prefer. I also swapped in my tilt column, but there is room between my legs and the steering wheel with the column straight.
  8. If I remember correctly, the AX-15 is supposed to take full synthetic 10W-30. I think a lot of people use the Redline though.
  9. I am also leaning towards the clutch not fully disengaging. Like they said, check the fluid level and try bleeding the clutch. Depending on how many miles are on the transmission, it might be getting to where it needs synchros though.
  10. Spreading of filler is done on the roof. Now for the rest of the cab…
  11. Grille parts have been dropped off at the chrome shop. The spreading of filler has begun on the cab. Fiberglass filler over anywhere that had welding done, then just a skim coat over everything else to get it perfect.
  12. Looks like a super nice truck!
  13. I’ve noticed this about my 89 too. I used to always let the fuel pump cycle. I didn’t wait once for some reason and it started much quicker. Doesn’t matter if it sits overnight, if it’s a hot restart, or if it sat in the sun for a few hours. Couldn’t tell you why though.
  14. Not very often that you hear about a 2wd Laredo. Looks like a nice truck for the price.
  15. That thing looks like it’ll be a blast!
  16. The cab got primed about a month ago. It looks wavy in the pictures, but that’s mostly because the primer was still pretty wet when the pictures were taken. It really won’t need much bodywork at all. The doors are almost finished and ready for bodywork now too, but no pictures. I was sent back to Tucson with some grille parts to get chromed.

The truck started overheating so we just got out and sat on the tailgate and talked to each other for a few hours CC is Awesome! Why? Having a community that has been around so long and is so full of knowledge is invaluable. Also, as a person that has been in car forums since the early 00's this has consistently been the nicest, most helpful, and most welcome one I've ever been a part of.
  18. That looks like it was a great trip!
  19. Hmmmm, this sounds very familiar. Glad to see you joined the forum!
  20. Yes! I love that channel!
  21. Looks like you were spotted
  22. What does the inside of the engine block look like? It could be that the cooling passages are rusty and partially obstructed. Is your fan clutch in good condition?
  23. Thank you!
  24. Now that I like the truck again, I had it out in the yard and decided to snap some pics of it. It’s absolutely filthy with all of the pollen and planting here, plus sitting outside for 3 weeks and not having been washed, but it still looks good.
  25. I checked his website. Looks like it. http://strokedjeep.com/contact.html
