as some of you know, my father isn't improving quite as fast as we'd hoped from the pneumonia (still improving though, which is the important part!) and so I had to keep scaling back our long planned Halloween Disney trip from camping in the trailer for a week and a half, to staying in a hotel for a week, to then just 4 days, to eventually canceling and refunding the whole thing. well, almost everything. unlike most Disney stuff, special event party tickets like the Halloween party at Magic Kingdom are not refundable. BUT I found out they are re-assignable. so I concocted an "Uncle-Pete-plan" (as they are apparently known) to blow like 500 of the bucks I just made (selling parts to you guys) on flights/busses/food to take my niece and nephew for a 30hr whirlwind trip to make use of those party tickets. so I reserved the various transportations and then on tuesday we got up super early to start forging some core memories with their first plane ride, first ever Disney experience, first ever driving a car, first ever roller coaster, first ever singing robots, second ever roller coaster, first ever parade, first ever ibis trying to steal their lunch, 1st/2nd/3rd ride on Pirates of the Caribbean, first ever serious fireworks show, and so much more. best lemonade ever. I am very tired though. if anyone needs me, wake me up in a few days... helping her brother see out the plane window the big letters outside the disney All Stars hotel my family takes a picture with heavy metal Mickey every trip so I made sure to stop by we didn't actually get on the monorail. the day crowd was pouring out of the Magic Kingdom and we kept getting filled trains so we just hoofed it back to the park. soooooo close. their first experience with an audio-animatronic. I wanted this to be first because they could just stand and stare and wonder, so made sure we had lunch with Sonny Eclipse. and yes, I was asked if he could see us. riding on the People Mover look at that smile. her first ever solo drive of, well, anything. yup, 'tis the castle taking a break with their first Dole Whips oh my. their second ever coaster (the first was an hour earlier but I didn't snap a pic for some reason). clinging on for dear life before we even leave the station. the Buzz space ranger spin. essentially a laser based shoot 'em game. they did pretty good once they got the hang of it. I maxed out the score again. breakfast of champions! horsing around with one of the various props at the Hotel. finally, a Mickey premium ice cream bar! occupying herself while we waited for our flight. kids are weird. got some rock versions of Disney songs in their ears and JP magazine in their eyeballs. and watching some Mickey cartoons on my phone

24hr trip to Disney World with my "adopted" niece and nephew. Kids had a blast. I'm' not sure I've ever been more exhausted in my life.

these are all the leaks I found on the 88 I'm fixing up. well, the ones on the pass side firewall at least. there were more elsewhere in the truck. I could see myself grinding/sanding/wiring all that down pretty good and then POR-15ing everything and calling it a day. after the leaks are addressed of course. if you want to replace it all, Key Parts is now making replacement floorpans for the MJs. you can find their stuff on ebay.

so the other day I introduced my niece and nephew (10 and 7) to metal music via Leo's version of Baby Shark and This Is Halloween and they were a hit. so I've made a playlist of Rock/metal versions of Disney tunes for some themed music for the plane ride Tuesday.

oh wow. that's pretty bad. I would run a compression test to see how the engine is doing. but assuming it otherwise runs ok, after that I'd probably add an inline catch can and keep driving.

that's likely something else. the oil from blowby should be ending up in the air filter. but there are plenty of seals on an engine that can leak. back of the valve cover, oil pan, oil filter adapter, etc.

oil pressure is irrelevant, as it's the air pressure inside the valve cover that pushes the tiny oil droplets out the tubes. high revving will make the blow by worse simply by having more bangs per cylinder per second and churning up the oil in the valve cover so more drops can escape with the fumes. all engines have some blowby, but the little tube is supposed to be sufficient for sucking all the nasty fumes out and putting it back into the intake manifold so it can be burned in the cylinders. in the end it's more annoyance that it's getting into the air filter than anything else. comes with old engines, but it's not a death knell or anything.
