    5-0 No Mo....

so how's your first month of retirement going?
  2. whoops, forgot to add my trailer's latest job
  3. not sure how this thread got by me, but yes, I like your plan. how do you think this spot formed?
  4. I love a good ol' nos grille
  5. I had a HF model many years ago. worked great hoisting up the MJ trans, not so much when I tried to do the same with the 78 bronco trans/t-case (like twice the weight, maybe more). messed up the screw.
  6. I can't bring them right too ya, but I can bring them to Adam. want me to hunt around in the yards down here for a white one?
  7. do you have a transmission lift? makes a world of difference.
  8. I enjoyed Teddy R park, but I'm sure it had a lot to do with the buffalo walking through our campsite. as in a couple strolled between the van (where we were) and the tent. up close and personal! turns out they just wanted a drink at the camp spigot, which one proceeded to activate. dang animals didn't bother to turn it off though. Yellowstone is in a league of its own though. sooooo much scenery! glad to hear you're doing well
  9. nice! that's a solid lookin' truck. be sure to start a build thread and share the adventure.

some of the codes got reused over the years. apparently dodge ran out of code combinations and swiped an old one from the MJs.

it's a code for a dodge challenger. this one I believe
  12. there's always one more screw than you plan on.

I hadn't edited the list yet. he doesn't have rack and pinion steering or dual batteries either.
  14. I'm sure this is because I lived in the rust belt my entire life. been there, done that. gotta save 'em all while I can. at this point I only have the one lb. I'm actually heading north in a couple weeks, but Adam already has dibs on the single bed (sb) I can carry at a time. I've found a few more candidates for acquisition but they are starting to get further and further away. rockers are a whole other issue. the junkayrds want insane money for them. it's a real shame.
  15. hands down my least favorite part of the updates.
  16. I never use a sawzall (that would take too long), but I don't necessarily undo all the little plastic clips individually. it's a junkyard after all. pull the grille (different years have different ways this attaches) then there are a couple 10 mm screws to undo (and early Kjs have 2 plastic tabs that needs to be pried up), then grab the top of the plastic and rip it forward and then rotate the entire assembly down. then 2 10mms for the frame caps and 6 15mm for the hooks and you're done. (be sure to grab all the frame hardware) ZJs are bit a bit more complicated because of how the hooks attach to the frame. the worst are the Commander rear hooks but even they don't take more than 5 min now that I'm familiar with how the bumper cover attaches. if you're doing this by hand like a caveman, it'll take longer. muuuuuch longer if there is rust in play. my dewalt impact gun is like cheating! If the bolt doesn't come free, it just snaps off. the worst part is that a couple pairs of hooks add a not-insignificant amount of weight to the long stroll back up hill out of the junkyard (junkyards in georgia aren't flat)
  17. can't remember if I shared this one yet, but it's a classic and deserves another showing if I have
  18. nice find!
  19. my folks have started calling me Captain Hook. It's just super hard to turn down $50+ in profit when it only takes me a couple minutes to pull.
  20. oh, also got a pass MJ seat and bench. plus some random chrome trim. and of course, 4 more pair of various Jeep tow hooks including another full Commander set!
  21. how is it even possible that you can even switch those? I would have thought they'd be quite different plugs.
