  1. Beautiful work. Congratulations.
  2. Glad to hear this is typical; I've been dreading chasing my tail trying to fix it.
  3. I'll be keeping this in mind. Nice work
  4. Is this intended to be a moisture barrier?
  5. Swap the tires around. Sounds like a tire issue.
  6. Column work is such a treat
  7. Coming up on a milestone! I've waffled back and forth on how much of the body to tackle at once - settled on spraying the whole cab and "chassis" all at once; inside and out, top and bottom. Before this can happen, I want to have all conceivable cutting and welding completed. All locations for sensors, wiring, mounting brackets, Etc. It's taking forever!
  8. Had to do a double take; "What's a Cybertruck doing in this thread?!"
  9. I had a local body guy recommend I have the door seals I plan to use installed for door fit up before paint and body, but I can't figure out the reasoning behind that.
  10. I worked on one with a brake issue that turned out to be a failing master cylinder - unobtainium. Edit: I say that as my only reservation with those cars. There's odd parts here and there, being from Aussie land and all, but some are apparently impossible to find - likely the parts used for the LHD conversion.
  11. Holes were cut. Decisions were made. Glad it'll be mostly out of sight when it's all back together.
  12. Finished up the heat shields on the downpipe this evening. Hoping the BBQ paint holds up 🤞
  13. Just replaced an engine in a 2017 Yukon over the summer that had a factory oil cooler in the radiator. Tow packages often times add an external cooler in series prior to the submerged cooler. It's quite common. The goal is temperature regulation, either up or down. I agree with the sentiment that the mj/xj cooling system is already basically maxed out from the factory, but employing a cooler setup as described above would, ideally, not burden the cooling system. It actually might help, if the external cooler brought temps too low.
  14. There is a reason that the OEMs submerge engine and transmission oil coolers in the radiator side tanks...
  15. If you didn't already know, these are a treat. I recall the "Jazzman" name... very helpful document regarding Saginaw columns.
  16. I've used the SprayMax cans for areas too small to justify mixing up a batch. I used left-over PPG ShopLine on my rockers and I'll be using SPI for the rest of the body. I am no body guy, but I've done a fair amount of reading and I'm in touch with some people in the know. Let your own research be your guide.
  17. This has been my experience. I'm fully aware that I may have made some kind of critical error in prep, but I couldn't tell you what it might have been. Bottom line: it's brittle, and the roof skin might be the most temperature-swing sheet metal on the truck.
  18. I would suggest you take a good look at people's long-term experiences with POR15 before you use the product...
  19. It occurred to me that I should make sure there is actually adequate exhaust clearance before I commit to primer on the cab... this blossomed into fabbing the turbo down pipe and exhaust system up to the muffler inlet.
  20. If you can figure this out for all models that use this module (GM stuff) and market it properly, you'd have a winner.
