    Junkyard grabs

    Nice haul.
  3. I had a little more time today and the mirrors were next on the list of things bothering me. They were both mostly gray at this point. The factory paint was just fading away. I sanded the heavy pits with 320 and Scotch Brite for the rest. Taped them off and a few coats of Rust-Oleum 2X and all better. Passenger motor was the better of the two. You can see the gray peaking though on the top. Not much paint left after sanding. All pretty and black. Sorry the pictures suck, I will try again tomorrow in the daylight. I promise there is a mirror there.
  4. That is simply beautiful. Good work
  5. That was my hope work this build. I try hard to make sure I list the part numbers. With a part number and Google anything is possible. I actually enjoy the hunting for parts. I believe that come from being a parts guy for 20 years. The internet had definitely helped with parts hunting.
  6. Mine don't rattle the door to bad I think the baffles help with that. Sure does sound good though.
  7. USPS showed up with my new door speakers today. When I had the door panel of to replace the check strap I realized the door speakers were shot. I ordered Rockford Fosgate speakers and am very happy with them. The PO had installed new speakers in the b Piller but didn't touch the door speakers. I also installed speaker baffels with the new speakers. It definitely sounds a ton better no more distortion. Speakers, baffles, & connectors. The factory speakers were definitely game over! I am confused how they worked at all. I have never used the baffles before but I would definitely use them again. If nothing else it will keep the speaker dry. Trimmed down so they fit better. I trimmed the excess off and it all fits well. Forgot final pics. These fit awesome I would definitely recommend them. It's definitely sounds better! And I love this song!
  8. I have almost the same head unit and really like it.
  9. Found a NOS manual trans TPS. Got 2 oxygen sensor from eBay. I also found a junk yard that just got in a small blocked 86. I was able to get the taillights and fender emblems. Car-Part.com app is awesome. I know have a TPS, 2 CPS, and 2 oxygen sensors all NOS. I believe I should be able to keep her going for quite a while now. The addiction strikes again. Manual trans TPS part # 33003194. Oxygen sensor part # 4713639. CPS part # 33004761. I think I have a problem! The hunt is just part of the addiction. They are out there if you look long enough! Until I got these I didn't know the 86 had its own fender emblems.
  10. Your are doing some awesome work! Just love that blue!
  11. I have been hunting water leaks for about a year at this point. I wonder if these trucks were every water tight?
  12. I'm a sucker for a stick shift so I would try the cash in hand with what your willing to spend. 84 XJ just sounds cool to me!

    rear bumper

Fey/Westin makes a bumper that does fit and you will need the brackets. I bought mine from advanced Auto parts online. Bumper https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/westin-diamondstep-universal-style-rear-bumper-63000/17460016-P Brackets https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web/SearchResults?&storeId=10151&catalogId=10051&langId=-1&searchTerm=97900&isFitted=1 If you sign up to their email list they give you 15% off. Really can't beat the price. The bumper comes with license plate lights also. I would definitely buy it again. If you plan on doing allot of towing Krustyballer makes and awesome hitch! You do have to modify the aftermarket bumper brackets to install the hitch. They make a good combo!
  16. Looking good! I hate water leaks!
  17. Mine was bad front sockets, a wire someone added shorted to ground, and two blown bulbs in the rear. After a rear I found why the interior lights don't work. It was a mouse nest and they ate the harness for the interior lights so it was shorted together. 30 year old truck problems I guess.
  18. Let me know a date I will see what I can do. I finally believe my truck will make it there and back in one piece.
  19. That is absolutely beautiful! That hood is amazing.
  20. If that wasn't half way across the country I would definitely buy it. Agreed! Most 30 year old vehicles do.
  21. I looked for a year or so to find a black 4.0 5 speed 4X4. Now I still look at Craigslist, eBay, Google, etc every day looking for it's twin in 2WD. Someday I will find it. The hunt is all part of it! Good luck and keep looking.
  22. Welcome to the addiction. That is an awesome birthday present for sure!
