88 4X4 Longbed Pioneer - 4.0 5 spd
JMO413 replied to 88towmanche's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
These fit good. I tried a few before I found these and they fit the best. They look good also IMHO. Before After. They for good and I love how they look. I replaced my turn signals after the corner lights. They were cracking. They make it look even a little better! I would always stay with the pre 97 I just like how it looks better. -
1968 Kaiser Jeep M715 Dump Truck
JMO413 replied to Jargon's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I want it also. I'm guessing we would all take one if they had extras. -
The MAP sensor hose just pushes into a rubber fitting on the back of the Throttle body. I would check there first. The screw driver is pointing to the line. Mine will look a little different I taped the throttle body and installed a nipple. It's one of cruisers tips. The bottom hole on the throttle body is the one that gets vacuum. The top hole is just there to hold in the factory rubber grommet.

Starter relay blown fusible link
JMO413 replied to Cheapamanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have been down the path you are on now. If I was doing it again I would pull the fuse box apart clean and check all the wires going to it. There are multiple wires in the fuel pump circuit. I found shorts in 4 or more wires. mj1988electricalmanual_(1).pdf This is the 88 electrical manual. I would save it so it's easily accessible. I even printed it all out. You going to need a decent multimeter, time, and patience. The PO had installed this switch to $#!& of the fuel pump. I drive it that way while I fixed the rats nest of wiring. -
closed to open cooling system
JMO413 replied to Maveric's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The renix was just before it's time with cooling all newer vehicles have a closed system. IMHO Mine is closed and works perfectly with a dorman tank and a Napa cap. I will buy a MAC's soon enough beacuse aluminum is always better than plastic. -
Woah Black Betty! Ham or Lamb?!
JMO413 replied to krustyballer16's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I'm all for a V8 just like Mopar in a Mopar but a 6.0 LS definitely packs more punch. Can't wait to see that build thread. -
It's covered in this post.

Love seeing a 5.2 instead of an LS! -
These shirts are awesome!

Nice find! The rare ones make the hunt fun.

Those would be the original options listed. The problem is Chrysler has updated the codes beacuse they are using them on newer models.
-
Yes they did. I have the original printed paper catalogs. They had more info than the electronic catalog. There was no VIN decode in the good old paper days.
-
The VIN sure meant allot more back then! I have all the pictures of the books saved for easy reference. It tells all the basics.

Amazing job it looks great!

JMO413 replied to 89 MJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They are all ran on vacuum. The supply line connects in the engine compartment by the heater core lines. -
Gas tank under serious pressure (solved)

It's not the destination it's the journey. -
You are right on work the dingle ball and ridge ream. I had an uncle who did this all the time. Knock off the ridge on top and dingle ball until the cylinders look good. I would definitely just take the head to the machine shop. Have them check it and do a valve job. Then just reassemble. That is unless you have deep acting in the cylinders then you will need to over bore.

I had always had a pop in my front suspension. It was there when I bought it and still there after the new lift and trac bar. The trac bar ball joint never seemed to seat correctly. So I finally decided to do away with the factory mount and ball joint trac bar end. I bought the kit from Rusty's beacuse I have their trac bar. The factory mount. The new replacement. The new mount is definitely thicker. The good part is the front end pop is gone! After a good inspection the factory mount had been hammered on so much the hole wasn't round anymore.

late model steering components on early MJs
JMO413 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It should fit fine. My truck has all ZJ steering and everything fits perfect. The picture just looks like the ZJ set up. -
