  1. Blue FelPro gaskets for sure. They are work the extra $. Decide what you want in the end so you don't do things twice. If you want to regear looking for newer stole front diff and swap rear axle now. Don't spend the money to rebuild what your going to replace. Just my thoughts beacuse I will be redoing mine soon.
  2. https://www.route66mods.com/product/jeep-egr-delete/ This is where I bought mine.
  3. The whole set was $100.
  4. I like it allot!
  5. New head pipe installed. The O2 sensor wiring fits perfect. And the sensor is easier to reach.
  6. Finally got a timing set. New timing cover the old one cracked when I installed the crank seal. New balancer old one was falling apart. Installed the oil pan gasket. Hopefully no more leaks. Got the new head pipe installed. Wiring definitely reached. The O2 sensor is definitely easier to reach now. Factory flange to flex pipe. Thrush welded muffler. Walker tail pipe. And she runs again! Got the floor pan seam sealer and painted. Installed sound deadener pad and then heat pad. Now I just have to install the interior.
  7. Amazon is definitely a problem for me. 10 for $11 weather pack connectors who doesn't need those.
  8. Still waiting on a timing chain. The first one had a used cam gear in it. So why not start another project. I already did the drivers floor board so now the passenger side. Yep there's a little hole there. Out with the old in with the new. Seam sealer applied. Waiting for it to dry. Going to clean the surface rust off the rest and POR 15 it is. Then truck bed liner, sounds mat, & heat mat. Not a bad afternoon!
  9. Where there's a will there's a way! Thank you.
  10. I got mine on eBay $50. It was a best offer vendor.
  11. Thank you. I think it was the Jeep God's knowing I would bring her back too life. I have a week spot for black Jeeps. The gray buckets, full console, full cluster, 4.0 5 speed signed the deal.
  12. If anyone ever comes back to this the answer is yes. You need a HO head pipe and round the corner in the intake. Use the renix gasket so the intake lines up. The exhaust ports are identical. Renix on top HO on bottom. They sure look different. HO head pipe for the O2 sensor bung and different drop location. You will have to deal with the EGR pipe. I just deleted the EGR. Plate for the valve and plug for the pipe hole. Round both bottom corners. Just a little. HO manifold on a Renix!
  13. While I was at it I decided I was done with my oil leak. I had already done the valve cover, distributor gasket, and oil filter adapter o-rings. And still had an oil leak. Pretty sure the oil pan gasket was leaking. It came out like this, chunks missing. I didn't feel like leaving it to chance so I did the rear main also. And I can't leave good enough alone so. I was pleasantly surprised it came right out. The best part right back in. I could move the timing chain way way too much. New one will be here tomorrow. Side note. You can reach all the manifold bolts except the back stud with this. Steelman Pro swivel extension.
  14. Pioneer brand is all I've ever found. Part number CA3068.
  15. The exhaust ports match perfectly. Tailpipe is definitely going to be in a different location. HO head pipe to match the manifold. Going to see what a Thrush welded sounds like. Flex pipe where my missing cat should be. This flange whelded to the flex pipe. It matches perfectly with the head pipe. Still uses the factory gasket, wanted it to separate. Hopefully this will extended the manifolds life. You do have to grind a little off the edges of the intake for it to fit. Just round of the bottom corners. Both sides. It does fit!! All on and torqued! I wasn't sure what torque sequence. HO or renix. I went renix first and then double checked with the HO pattern. These are a life saver!
  16. So I have been collecting parts again. I am off this week for my birthday and 20 year work anniversary. With that said I have some truck time. My rear manifold stud was broken and I was fairly confident the manifold was cracked. When I got the truck the motor mounts were shot. Knowing that and needing to replace the exhaust. The old muffler and tailpipe had holes and was undersized. The tailpipe was under 2" OD. The head pipe was still factory with the crush. No cat just a piece of random pipe to boot. I then came to the conclusion a HO manifold was cheaper in the long run. So I started to collect. My plan is just to delete the EGR. I love in Iowa and they're is no inspection for anything. EGR delete. Route 66 for the plate and Doorman 090-061 for the pipe hole. Plate and plug. The HO manifold had the bellows in it. Hoping that and a piece of flex pipe and it will live a while. These bolts suck! This could have sucked pretty bad. First time no go. Second time winner! The manifold is cracked and the gasket is blown thought on number 6. This crack goes around over half. You can barely see this one is about a quarter way around. Renix/HO Renix on top HO on bottom.
  17. I would have to agree. If mine wasn't a Comanche there is no way I would have put in the time and money I have. Supply and demand is a big part!
  18. I'm going to try to weld to the broken one I have. It's the back one so hopefully I can get it with the head on.
  19. Mine sounds exactly like yours. It it dead quite on start up and then this nose appears. I changing my exhaust manifold next week. I know I have a broken stud in the back. I'm guessing my manifold is cracked also. I will let you know if it changes anything. I'm also pulling the oil pan to do the rear main and oil pan gasket beacuse both are leaking. While I have it if I'm going to have s look at the Piston skirts and timing chain. I will report back.
  20. The cab forward is basically an XJ. Most of it will cross over. There are some small parts differences and a few pieces that are MJ specific. I know the parking brake set up is completed different. Good luck hunting!
  21. Looks good! Love the patina!
  22. Good to see you got it out. That gives me hope.
