I have a couple CC things on my Libby. heck, I had one on my old minivan if parents can brag about their kids doing good in school that one month, I figure I can brag about the best MJ site for like 20 years running.
keep in mind that if your wallet is thin, 31s would be a LOT easier on both it and your poor clutch. Just get some used ones and sell them once you're ready to drop some coin on the next phase.
mine is around 5.5 (with very saggy leafs) but I have ford axles so it won't directly compare with the rest of it.
how much trimming do you find acceptable? If you are keeping the flares stock, then I can say that backspacing and bumpstops are key. keeping the backspacing close to stock helps keep the tires out of the flares when turning and longer bumpstop will keep them out of the flares when flexing.
what axles are you running? gears? wheels?
I have to echo John and say that regardless of the "value" or rarity, the 2.1 just makes for a bad daily driver. reliability is poor and engine parts are not available at any store. Automan brings his truck out for shows and the occasional weekend jaunt into town. and he's already had to source parts from europe. the engine shares things with some weird motorhome engine or something like that. He's the guy to see about getting parts when the time comes. full screen name: automan2164
I'm out of town at the moment, but I have everything but the windshield banners (and I'll have more of them soon as I can get back to michigan). Plus pretty soon we will have the Hornbrod tribute stickers ready to mail out.
