soooooo, the 5 dollar pair was a good intro into the concept, but had some blatant shortcomings. the $40 pair was way better, and helped me figure out what I liked/disliked. but then I lost the side with the microphone. so for a gift to myself, I got a pair of refurbished $190 Galaxy Buds3 (for like $60) to see what a really expensive pair was like. and they are pretty dang awesome! I really like voice controls and having an app that lets me turn features on/off (for example, all the touch features are off). but I would never pay 190 for them.

I do love an empty shell. so much potential!

too bad it's at a junkyard. Dom found this v8 swapped truck at a michigan junkyard and it bears a striking resemblance to a truck I bought like 20 years ago that had a hideously done white paint job. I didn't need a 3rd rig at the time, but the price was good so I pulled the 4.0 (to swap into my 88) and gave the rest of the truck to someone in need of a body for a project. waiting on some further research to see if it might really be the same truck. some things are the same, some things are different, but dang do those stupid white door handles stand out like a sore thumb. the truck at the yard: my old truck (don't have many pics of it unfortunately)

I should do that. never know what's going on. tank is of course full to the brim. this is going to wait for a bit until the weather improves.

welp, I guess that last blast of gas that almost hit my face when removing the filter was indeed the last blast of gas. absolutely nothing is coming out of the fuel line upstream of the filter. pump makes the right noises and all, but zilch is zilch. guess I'll be pulling the pump next to examine it directly. maybe it's just that silly rubber hose has rotted inside the tank.

ran out and triple checked and "out" is facing the engine. so much for an easy fix. I guess tomorrow I'll see if I can start pulling stuff apart to check for flow rate.

resistor is there, but I've bypassed it with no change. haven't pulled the fuel line off the rail yet to check for flow. I guess that's next. hmmm, I need to get some appropriate rubber line to redirect the flow so I don't make too much of a mess.

pump sounds strong. fuel spews out the filter pretty good. engine cranks strong. was running pretty decent a few weeks ago when I finally got to take it around the block to prove I've fixed the steering. then a long pause of sitting. then wouldn't do anything but idle (any amount of revving made it stall), but it idled perfect. few days later it refused to even idle. swapped out the fuel filter and now it might sputter a couple times while cranking. fuel does NOT come out the fuel rail schraeder valve. just stinky air. has the fuel regulator kicked the bucket?

time to pull the rear window and reglue. they are notorious for separation. be prepared to address any rust on the mating surface.

you can pry the rubber bit off the valve cover if necessary.

is this skinny hose clear of obstructions and sucking the dirty air out of the valve cover?
