  1. I say collect them when you can, figure out the details later.
  2. done that. up on stands and 50 back and forths have changed nothing.
  3. Florida sunsets
  4. dunno. I fly out tomorrow for some doc appts in Michigan, and while away I'll be ordering new lines (they're the only old stuff left, so why not) and another new pump to have on hand. when I return I'll be taking the whole thing apart for inspection. maybe the pressure valve is faulty?
  5. I've vacuum bled it, manually bled it, engine-on bled it. no changes. it's pumping fluid while turning the wheel with the engine off, and pumping fluid with the engine on (and no turning of the wheel). I'm at a loss (and my arms are really tired). the pump was replaced because we were experiencing the same issue with the old one and I figured it was bad.
  6. ZJ box for a better ratio, new pump installed, new belt is on tight, I don't get bubbles, but still I get no assistance when the truck is stopped. what am I missing? I'm off to town to see if I can rent a vacuum bleeder. it's got to be a bubble somewhere.
  7. snagged a local direct replacement so this has moved to the hypothetical.
  8. and on Halloween proper. guess he's not yet tired of pretending to be a rodent.
  9. my godson at trunkortreat last weekend and his brother experiencing his first ever virtual reality sim (walking around the titanic)
  10. I keep seeing late model XJ upgrades (to a WJ unit). do the early years have one too? ZJ maybe?
  11. today I learned that years ago I didn't buy a 95 dana 30 axle like I was told, but a mislabeled 99.5 axle. fun fact, putting new 95 rotors on a 99.5 axle results in the rotors locking themselves against the dust shield and preventing any movement. something that's only apparent after the tires are back on and the lugnuts are tight.
  12. Drama is the thing I want to avoid most of all. I'd greatly prefer there'd be no political stuff on the CC, but he was doing something in his MJ so it was more of a coin flip this time and I let it slide. apologies for doing that. I should have been a bit more strict.
  13. leave the politics to yourselves please
  14. be patient. that's happened before.
  15. if I remember right, the longbed S-10s can share toppers with MJs, I wonder if the tonneaus are similar?
  16. I've had success by pushing the lock for the inside and outside simultaneously. sometimes you need to lock-unlock-lock-unlock a few times. then doing the same for the open door function by actuating inside and outside simultaneously.
  17. don't forget that burping can be more of a process than a one-and-done

  19. it happens. you're just out and about, minding your own business and BAM, there's another XJ in the yard when you get home.
  20. I had a similar issue with the headlights stealing the turn signals and it turned out to be bad front sockets. I realize this doesn't include the Oracles into the mix, but bad grounds are bad grounds and can do weird things.
  21. I have friends that have put their head through the back glass after the smallest of fender benders. some still live with pain from the accident a decade later. the answer is to swap. this chap had a passenger.
