  1. did the 12v harness with an H4 conversion to the 88 I'm working on and the light output is fantastic
  2. winter is coming already?
  3. was the rear glass still there?
  4. what era of landrover had a 60/14?
  5. stock control arms are also made from sheetmetal and each one only needs a single bolt to bend/break to super ruin your day. get an aftermarket tow hook kit (like the factory stuff) with all the brackets and you should be good. never pull from the middle of an axle or it could bend.
  6. doesn't advance adapters or Novak sell the appropriate adapter bearing?
  7. your frame is made of sheetmetal. the more tie-in brackets and tie-in points you use, the better. and NO yanking. pulling only. people have died from half-assed recovery methods.
  8. same weaknesses, but when the shaft snaps, the tire won't wander away because it's captured by the wheel bearings. :L
  9. installed the injectors and finally got to idle the engine for a while and it dripped 4 drops of oil off the trans after 15 mins of running. I'm going to call this a win for now and carry on with the rest of the project. will revisit it later.
  10. the factory ones in the junkyard will say Ford on them. I'll post some long term updates whenever I finally get to drive the truck. right now it idles and revs fine, but there's no load on the engine. it's still going to be a while before that happens, but at least this hurdle is behind me.
  11. brought home, cleaned up and installed 6 ford branded, fat body, orange top injectors from an Expedition and the idle is spot on perfect.
  12. why on earth are your front tires rotating when in 2wd?
  13. me too! though I love it when nature stops by the house too. couple fawns as seen from the bathroom window.
  14. the current project is named "2 steps forward, 1 step back".
  15. wait, is it too late to name my first truck: "I could have done better"?
  16. found it! there's a groove up in the block that was filled perfectly with a leftover bit of... gasket? it looked like the rest of the block and I didn't notice it (and it's been a hot minute and forgot that groove was there). this time when dropping the pan it fell out. well, I'm off to go buy yet another oil pan gasket. 3rd time's a charm...
  17. day late, dollar short, but I'll offer up the same advice I give to guys learning to weld or paint: never practice on your Jeep. also, prep is everything (and that includes waiting until both you and the weather and both comfortable and amicable to the project). rushing always leads towards "I could have done better".
  18. https://www.ebay.com/itm/175721974124 black trim and silver trim are also available.
  19. it's a sticker. if it ever truly bothers you, just pull it off and redo it when it's less than 200* outside.
  20. congrats! probably my favorite color of MJ. I see you found some of that factory duct tape!
  21. every liner that fits an MJ is kinda rare at this point. I love mine, but it is definitely a personal decision. best part is the over-the-rail bits that protect the bed from my clumsiness.
  22. I have a set of their lenses and they are beautiful.
