  1. I'm 1000% certain that this one is in place properly. we'll see tomorrow. need to buy some oil.
  2. but still can't find the missing piece of gasket at the back of the block...
  3. so the engine lopes and struggles to maintain a proper idle. if I pull the spark plugs off of #s 4 or 5, there's no change in sound or rpm. but there's definitely a spark, I can feel a click from the fuel injector, and the injectors ohm out at 14ish. the injectors are new 4-holes. can they be bad even though they indicate to be good? I guess after dinner I'll start the process of pulling the rail and swapping in 2 of the old injectors just to see if there's a change. or maybe tomorrow if the mosquitos are bad.
  4. I've overheated my 88 to the nth degree more than once. still works ok.
  5. dumped in a booster and a couple gallons of fresh gas. after a bit of the normal struggling (I'm assuming this was burning off the gas in the line), it no longer stalls out, but still lopes. I'll just start a new thread about the idle.
  6. boom well, it was fun while it lasted.
  7. you may already have a 23 gal tank but the fill cutoff tube is longer and thus preventing more than 16 gallons going in. corporations are sneaky that way.
  8. out of curiosity, how many straps hold up the current tank?
  9. that light needs to come on. because after your done you'll need to make it go back off to confirm that all went back to normal. after you open a front line you sometimes need to stomp on the brake pedal HARD to get the shuttle to move.
  10. have you bled the emergency bypass line?
  11. fuel injectors are new, but I've touched nothing on the spark plug side of the engine. maybe an injector is bad?
  12. never a dull moment. I love babysitting this tiny li'l man.

  14. after reassembling everything in Brianne's truck (88 4.0) the idle sounds rough and it stalls out if you rev too quickly, and if you do rev it up, it'll stall once it gets back down to idle. but it will rev and sounds fine doing it. Ive fiddled with things, checked my vacuum lines again, and swapped out the IAC with no changes. the gas is a year old so I'm thinking of grabbing some octane boost and fresh gas tomorrow and see if anything happens.
  15. ooooooooo!!!!
  16. I'm assuming a 4.0? you should put some basic truck info in your signature. 8350 3643 out of my OG 6" thick parts manual. may be superseded since then.
  17. I would just add spacers and call it a day. even if you get it centered, you'll still likely have tire rub with the fat rubbers on stock rims.
  18. as I understand it, he is immensely behind due to a shop that was making the stuff screwing him over. but he is catching up on orders.
  19. should be several videos on youtube for tearing down the column to replace things. can't say I've ever read about someone do you exact plan though. but maybe for the more dedicated race trucks?
  20. I "fixed" it with a long screw and a fender washer. if you paint the fender washer it doesn't look half bad.
  21. 4.0+stick = 3.07
  22. can you snap some pics of your bushings, leafs, and leaf perches? but I think the solution is going to be some spacers.
  23. the leaf spring bushings. how leaning are the leaf springs if you look at them from straight behind?
