  1. yes and no. lots of variable here. a mix of 40 year old parts plus previous owner "fixes" plus the cheap replacement parts that are available plus the new owners skill level for repairs plus the actual commute itself (big difference between "5 miles in to town" and 1.5 hours across Atlanta). there's no reason why any vehicle cannot be 99%+ reliable if you're proactive with maintenance, but problems will always arise, no matter the age or brand.
  2. that's the 92 calendar year trucks built. model year started around july of 91.
  3. more like 3k+. plenty of 92s were made in 91.
  4. all the new carpet is made by the exact same company, ACC. go with whatever price works best for you.
  5. something is very wrong with it. I bought an elcheapo unit from advance auto for this 88 I'm working on and it sounds as it should.
  6. I mean, I applaud your enthusiasm, but that would have been a ton of work. plus where would you get all those VINs?
  7. Jeep has no tallied records of anything , but in theory if we had every single 92 MJ vin we could look it all up one at a time.
  8. thermostat doesn't control the upper range, only the lower range.
  9. 210 is normal. sudden rises in temp can definitely be indicative of an air bubble appearing at the back of the head. back in the day you could get a 2.5L with 4.56 gears and tiny tires from the factory. plus I regularly drive around without using overdrive. higher rpms won't directly cause cavitation.
  10. you only need to unscrew the sensor juuuuust enough to bleed out the air.
  11. did you fix the water leaks? repairs to the floor don't mean much if the rain is still getting in.
  12. just don't bleed the air out when anything is hot.
  13. this dude definitely has a particular taste in vehicles. and he must be out and about because one is missing.
  14. yeah, acquiring a duplicate was never an issue with me. do I need that 10th door panel? nope, but it's mine now. but selling my last one is a real fear and will likely result in some better organization in the future. gotta find some epic free time though. (free time where I'm also injury-free. laying around all day because I hurt my back yet again doesn't count. can you hear me Universe? that doesn't count!)

  16. I have 4 main piles. upstairs in the barn (which has fans for air circulation), downstairs in the barn (which has a dehumidifier), under the canopy next to the barn, and gets-wet-with-every-rain. most all of it is sorted into groups of like items (and by what sort of moisture it can handle), but I've never bothered to actually catalog them. I can't bring myself to catalog things I want to sell.

    Price check?

prices are all over the map. I agree, I would try and lick that problem. it's worth more if it's a good driver.
  18. the site has its own mobile software. simply go to comancheclub.com and it'll automatically convert to the mobile version.

    Tool Talk

my 20v impact gun is one of my favorite toys, I mean tools.
  20. my mom feeds them as if they were pets, does that count? lol. at this rate she'll be hand feeding them by this winter.
  21. it's a glitch that pops up with the way certain cameras/phone note how the pic was orientated. I've had good luck with rotating it, then re-rotating it on my laptop. not sure if that also works on a phone?
  22. reaping the benefits of a project well done
  23. good point. you may not be able to buff the ghosts away.
