interesting. for whatever reason I can see it. I don't have enough brain cells available this morning to figure it out so I took a screen shot of it for ya.

almost forgot to mention I brought home #25 from Florida last week. some people bring home Disney souvenirs, I bring home MJ parts. because of my knee I had to rely on the seller to crawl underneath to unbolt it all plus do most of the effort loading it. but my system for loading/unloading (2x4 ramp-rails) works pretty great and we got 'er done.

major milestone this weekend! I knelt down. like, with full weight on my knees. I still feel it, but it's not the intense pain it was just a week ago. was a huge help to be able to crawl under that 86 and install the axle. although having not done much manual labor for the last month and then pulling a front axle and installing a front axle all by myself today has left me quite sore. ack!

an 86. or what's left of one anyway. no drivetrain and no interior. someone's long-abandoned project. spent the day shoveling trash out and getting a front axle underneath of her. should be coming home with me later this week.

Libertys aren't as useful as a Cherokee would be. pretty much you're limited to the rear axle, wheels, and maybe the t-case. there must be 50+ in the local pullaparts around me.

a good body shop guy can perform miracles

I like to sprinkle a small amount of baby power in the suspect area. the water will make little trails through the powder and lead back to the leak location.

just remember that if you rotate a single tire, it must go around twice. if the axle has a posi, then you'd need to jack up both rear tires and spin them together around just once.

just ordered a bunch of little neo magnets to install in my screwdriver bit holders. my experiments with my tiny neo magnets (that aren't quite the right size) has been very promising. I had to order 50 or them because it was just a couple bucks more than 10. if this works, I'll have some extras if anyone needs a couple. maybe I'll throw in a couple with the CC magnets. lol

sorta. most of a truck at least. I'm not even sure what all comes with it, but it's an 86 and currently gutted of drivetrain and interior (rear axle is still there). the owner has been holding on to it for years now to do a big Hemi project, but never got past the gut phase and now wants it gone.

ooorrrrrrrr I'm going with my backup plan. I used my last bit of daylight to clear a path to and then jack up my white truck. tomorrow I steal the front axle...

how hard do you think it is to get a WJ axle temporarily in place? I ask because it appears I put too much faith into a junkyard and I bought the wrong 2wd beam. thanks goodness it was cheap, but in the morning I'm supposed to be installing it into an MJ carcass just enough to get it up on a trailer. I'm assuming I can do just lowers and one upper and call it a day. I can control the body movement with separate straps. my searches are being flooded with "don't bother with that, put in an XJ axle instead" and that's not helpful right now. and yes, I have a separate issue of WJ rims, but I do believe the seller has some I can use.

you can try shaking it vigorously. it shouldn't move at all

2wds have a 2-piece driveshaft. at the back of the shaft you'll find that the outer sleeve (connected to the front ujoint) goes over an inner sleeve (that's attached to the rear ujoint) and between them is a rubber isolator.

what shape is the rubber isolator inside the shaft in? rear axle bearings?

meh. the Libby has been in AWD mode since 2007. I've gotten spoiled.
