The trip north is delayed

My mom is ok but the Durango is... not.  So unless I'm able to use the eventual rental this trip will have to be on pause for an undetermined amount of time.  Technically I'm still heading to Michigan, but only for my doc appts.

 

I'll be contacting everyone personally later in once we're back from x-rays. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Just her.  She might have fractured something in her wrist, but she's going to be super sore all over either way.  She's getting the x-rays right now.  Thankfully my dad is on the mend from his lung infection and I'm on an upswing from my body's usual stupidity.  2 weeks ago this would have been far more of a hardship.  But we'll take good care of her.

oh, I'm pretty sure it's totaled.   but I'm not an expert.  the front doors still both work perfectly.

 

mom stayed at the hospital for observation for some "minor" brain bleeding.  still waiting on the results of the morning CT scan to see if it got better or worse.

 

and there have been 3 times in the last 10 years I've wanted dash cam footage and only one of those 3 times was the card readable.  and this was the most important one of the 3.  I got nothing.  damn.  it.

Ehhh maybe not. The chip shortage might work in your favor of actually having it fixed. As long as the engine can still turn over and run, it might get fixed. But hot damn that’s a good hit. Here’s to all good things and a quick recovery.

once I know what's going on with my mom I'll being swing by the durango to see what's up.  if the engine hasn't been touched, there might be hope.   but at this point I'm already looking up kbb values and starting to see what the used market is like to find another one.

I should be able to pick mom up soon.  but I can't see the Durango until monday since the yard isn't open weekends.

Glad she is OK.  There are lots of Durango's out there, but unless your very lucky you only get one Mom.

she's doing better and is being stepped down to a regular room.  will be picking her up in the morning.

as it was explained to me, minor is "we're keeping you in ICU to see if it gets better or worse in the next 24 hrs".  major is "we're prepping you for surgery".

brought Mom home today.    still very sore but doing fine.  Got to visit the Durango today to retrieve our stuff.  Doesn't look any better in the daylight, but I popped the hood and the engine doesn't seem touched by the impact.  for whatever that's worth.  might find out tomorrow what the inspector says about it.

Both rails smoked and swayed. And airbags went off. Big money parts there.
