  1. It’s all back together and no leaks! Now I need to address some smaller stuff and I should be good to drive the eagle once again!
  2. Well it sounds right and healthy. Are you missing much of the air filtration system?
  3. Oh that’s pretty loud. Typically you shouldn’t be able to hear it from inside the cab unless you don’t have the bonnet on. Or it’s being amplified by an empty air box.
  4. So I bought it off eBay originally. But the seller contacted me and asked me which one I need and then sold me the right one while refunding me the one I bought which was the cheaper and smaller core. Guess they have two styles in stock and didn’t have them appropriately listed. But seems like finding a radiator that’s factory is few and far between. Part numbers are 579 in the performance radiator catalog and the one I received today is TSM 433579 which is basically the same. Last I looked on eBay the seller has one or two but I hope that’s correct. Looks like we have a range from 74-88 though.
  5. Well….here I am. Admitting that the radiator was a problem. Using the heater in the winter fooled me pretty well until it got hot out. So the old one was clogged. @89 MJ spent about 6 hours trying to unclog the old one. We almost succeeded. Almost. He left i and decided to play with the strong acids to clean it out and suffice to say it was going pretty damn good. Till a pocket of acid stuck around and eroded the solder away at the upper tank. Damn. So I hunted down a new one and to my absolute surprise found one. Damn near close to factory spec. Even the fittings for the trans fit pretty well. And now we’re here. The shroud went on without a hitch and now I’m cleaning it to where it’ll be more presentable. I should have no more cooling issues after this. And if I do. Well i dont know what to do then. But everything looked healthy. I even opted to swap to an aluminum water pump just for giggles and will be putting the 7 blade fan back on cause I think it can handle it.
  6. Ooo. That’ll be a fun watch.
  7. Huh. Sounds about right. I know the WOT switch is basically gone in 88 so something adds more fuel for 88-90 years when at WOT. Which actually should be the ISA. Yeah I need to brush up on such. I remember reading a lot into it when I was doing the TBI swap on my XJ.
  8. Funny enough 86 has both switches. But the power steering switch had something to do with the the AC and idle in 86. If I recall. But they figured out they could just use the PS switch to also determine WOT conditions in 87. But the switch isn’t needed for the later years. Supposedly the YJ still uses such a switch but I could be wrong.
  9. Yes it will work and yes it’s worth it. 87-90 refined upon the 86 ECU and I would run it. I hate how not much is known about the 2.5 ECU and what was refined over the years but I don’t think 87-90 changed. Course I’m curious and would like to try a 90 ECU in my MJ and see if I get any performance and or better mileage.
  10. I think it does actually. Cause in 86 there was a wide open throttle switch that was used to where as the later years just use input from power steering pressure switch.
  11. Just the plastic that covers the metal? I believe you ought to be able to find such from ford and GM of the era. They are Bendix seatbelts. Even an XJ should have that cover.
  12. Oh nice! Let me know. I dont know if I need the motor but may not hurt to have if I have to get a little creative with the eagle.
  13. I just need pics and measurement of the knob hole for the arm and or if the XJ rear wiper motor is available, measurement of that knob would be much better.
  14. They are yours! As far as I can tell, they feel like they will operate just fine. Ill shoot you a PM later.
  15. I remember watching project farm do drill bit sharpeners a year or so ago.
  16. I am gonna have to hunt these down now and bling both Jeeps.
  17. Wait. There’s chrome glove box handles?
  18. This Jeep is criminally fun.
  19. Why does a painted bumper make our Jeeps look plasticky?
  20. So back to this car. I still dont have money for it haha. How ever! @89 MJ is here and we took a look at the car. It is confirmed a WS6 car Built the 4th week of January at the Van Nuys plant in CA. With water-based paint in Platinum with Carmine Vinyl Deluxe seats/interior. Neat! Everything about this car is correct and will have to be restored properly now going forward. No Low-bucking this one.
  21. That’s probably why Chrysler did away with that set up. Cause one couldn’t do an on the side of the road bypass. Makes sense now.
  22. Thats really neat. I swear I had seen or heard of something like this somewhere during my research of the Dana cruise control system.
  23. Fun fact, AMC testing procedures for testing the module is to set the pots to a “default” and test and see if cruise control engages at 30mph. That’s the absolute lowest it will engage and set at.
