  1. Damn Mopar ones are a fortune!! I thought they were cheaper but then again I always snagged them from the bad fuse/relay centers which is why I have a bunch.
  2. Mopar has their own ones too. I think I’ve got more than a few of those to spare.
  3. If it ain’t broke don't fix it. I’ve been learning that the original stuff rarely seems to fail(knock on wood). Id trust those Renix stamped coils.
  4. Pete the way I look at this, I am glad it will be out of my possession much like how I was when my accord was totaled. I think the engine on this car needs a full rebuild. But I’ll drop a hint as to what the next car could be. It’s a model year newer than what was in Smokey and the bandit.
  5. I once had the opportunity to score a whole set. Granted they were sprawled at three different dealers. One day I went to pounce and one of them was gone. Said ok I’ll just get the other three. Saw one on eBay, checked the dealer locate the next day and all were gone. Granted someone paid $60+ for them(that’s employee price mind you) and list on them was $100 so i don't know who snagged them all but there ain’t any anywhere except in pack rat garages and sheds.
  6. I can look later in the catalog and give you a basic trim level idea as to what that style came with.
  7. I am announcing the death of this project. As of recently I have no place to store it in any way and it has to be removed from my grandparents property ASAP. It will be going back to the family I purchased it from whom will probably in turn sell it again to an enthusiast who has time and space. I can’t say I’m happy about the choice but I know I’ve learned a lot from this short project and the decision is better than it being in the scrap yard. If anything happens to it, I’ll update the thread like if it sells to someone else. The car runs and it’ll drive but won’t brake. I’m more or less proud of what I’ve done to this car. Thanks y’all for any help and input along the way for this car. Keep an eye out for the next one or watch Chunks build for his changes and fun.
  8. I feel like we need a FAQ post so threads like these don’t pop up every couple months.

  12. Yeah ok I guess that one is an exception from mopar.
  13. Mopar offers both types. It just depends on if the dealer stocks either or. Do you know what group size you use?
  14. Could always go Mopar. Maybe not the cheapest but Mopar has a good three year warranty on them and I’ve only had one Mopar battery fail on me but it ran its course in AZ after 3 years. And that was my first Mopar battery.
  15. As far as we have seen, there wasnt such a cluster. Any that have been seen have been made by the owner of the cluster.
  16. Yup! The only other thing to do that you’ve got covered is swapping the senders for sensors. Oh and you can easily modify the odometer on the red face speedo as well but you can easily swap your speedo around the two clusters like you have planned.
  17. Yeah it sounds like you’re going through a lot of trouble when there’s already an easy plug n play swap to keep everything Renix. If you are wanting to use your old speedo with an HO cluster, you’ll be looking at some hacking and what not to make it work and fit in there. Not to mention cutting the printed circuit on the back of the HO cluster. You’re probably better off doing the above suggestion.
  18. Have you used a nylon brush? Sometimes something like windex or a vinyl cleaner will do the trick with the nylon brush to get into the texture(if not subtly repaint them lol).
  19. Thanks Pete, I knew it was one of those two. Its that kind of Monday.
  20. Yeah the trans for the 2.8L were the same options as the 2.5L since both use the GM 90* bellhouse pattern. And those are the good years that have the external slave set up that’s an easier swap for someone staying in the AMC era for their build.
  21. Did you check all your fuses? Perhaps something got just enough voltage to blow a fuse before any other damage could occur.
