  1. New alt is in and doing alternator things. Yay. Now off to enjoy my Sunday.
  2. Lol That they are. The trick is getting them to behave.
  3. …..why The alternator died on me. Yay…time to replace that I guess. I finally found my oil pressure switch failed too so I’ve had no indication on oil pressure which is fine but I think it’s been making my choke intermittent or not working at all. So I replaced that while removing the alternator and the light came back which was nice. Carter. How in the hell did I let you talk me into Eagle ownership? Haha
  4. I remember one time this guy in this corvette had to tell me my brake lights were or while being washed out in the sun. Sent me on a wild goose chase thinking my lights were out.
  5. You need an 84-86 with the set up. All the parts should swap over to your bell house and you’ll need the pivot ball for the clutch fork. I learned that you can press the 86 one out of the house or you can get the mopar threaded pivot and use that. It’s a loose fit but it stays just fine.
  6. Mostly why I did the external. Shoddy internal slaves are just the worst. Also I should’ve gone with a factory muffler but I do absolutely love the sound of the muffler I have and how it gives it a nice little aggressive growl.
  7. I have not been able to locate those pins so I just used pins and a little bit of wire from my donor harness and spliced them and my fog lamp harness together.
  8. Woot alright let’s begin! 84-86ish(probably 86) wont work. That uses a 7 terminal pack con connector. 87-90 uses that weird bell looking thing(probably ford) that has 10 terminals and it’s what you want. Maybe 91-96 might work but I’ve never messed with an HO to find out. So pic 3 is what you want. Pic 4 looks like headlamp connectors for the XJW spider eyes(late 86-90) As for the connectors to the lamps, there’s two styles to be mindful of. Weatherpack which is 88-90 and a ford style round connector for the Marchals found in 84-87. I’m not 100% on the ford connector for all the years but it’s what my XJ is rolling with. Now I added fogs the factory way. I got a harness from hella, got a somewhat worthless front lamp harness minus fogs and took one or two of the terminals from the donor harness and added them to my harness, spliced my fog lamp harness to those terminals and then I had a clean factory lookin install for my fog lamps. That’s the way I would do it if you can’t locate a front harness with the fog lamps. And if you do the aftermarket harness route, you could set yourself up for any lamp you want to use. Given you can find the era correct lamps.
  9. We’ve got some XJs and SJs. So honestly it could be just a AMC 4x4 club. But!! I think we’re fine the way we are.
  10. If your short on coin, I’d take the time to read the DIY in the DIY thread on restoring them as that’s the cheaper way. Plus you may end up with excellent results.
  11. Yeahhhhh one common denominator here is AMC.
  12. Our Jeeps use a Saginaw column which is what GMs one use. Most parts interchange though I’ve heard not all do. Not sure which ones do. I added the washer light. That was kind of a pain but easily took about an hour. Was it worth it? I dont know. It’s neat and nice to have another functioning light. Maybe I’m an idiot and just like lights to tell me when something is off. But I believe I did a DIY on it a couple years ago.
  13. Very true. And with that being said. He is correct. The radio is at fault. Tested a total of 4 radios. Two worked. One had a bad VFD and front panel to work with and the last one just didn’t want to. One day I will learn how to fix these radios.
  14. Interesting you say that because I do use such for my iPod and I’m pretty certain it does not pick such up at all which could be internal. However FM functionality came back this morning. Minuit did tell me that this unit and the previous AM/FM only unit does have FM issues. But I’ll look at the coax and investigate that. And the eagle is known for bad and unlocatable grounds.
  15. Not MJ but I trust y’all more than Facebook and a dead forum. I fixed the alignment on my Eagle. Went for a test drive for the alignment, turned the car off. Cleaned the oil pressure switch connector and tested to see if the light bulb was burnt out or if the switch was bad. Tested such and suddenly the FM on my radio came back to life. Not sure what did it but I was happy. Now I’ve lost that. And not sure how I lost such either other than I went into a turn lane, car started bogging a little and then lost the radio. Any ideas? I’ll probably tear into the dash for a loose connector or maybe a bad ground. What’s weird is the previous radio came back to life in a similar way but thought it was just the fact the radio was old or problematic but now I’m thinking I’ve got some off wiring issue. To add there’s no static on FM of any kind, AM can get a signal but sounds really choppy. Anyone had such an issue in their MJ or any other vehicle?
  16. https://ebay.us/m/ERbBig Good find
  17. Ok let’s not turn this one into a charging/alt thread.
  18. Updated the HO cluster
  19. Speaking of group 34. They will not fit in the 84-86 battery tray. You have to stick with 58 for those years. Learned the fun way.
  20. If everything is cleaned with no resistance, one shouldn’t need a lot of cranking amps to turn over an engine. If you need more amps, you probably have a lot of resistance and should have your wiring inspected before something happens.
  21. That’s one way to solve the problem. Glad you got it close. Only thing I can think of is it’s electrical or TPS is out of adjustment.
  22. Interesting that the Renix CPS had issues. I was asking about the coil as I had mine give up on me only to just find the contacts were dirty.
  23. Yeah pretty damn much. Weak spark could be a factor. From CPS to the coil. Was the coil replaced or was the whole ICM replaced?
  24. Ok so pressure needs to be 14.5 PSI and on an unrelated note, that relay you asked about is the load swap relay. The TBI book says that if you have low pressure you will get hard cold starts. Hard starts if pressure is high. I think you doing the pressure adjustment was on the right track.
