Hate to admit it, but might be going back to a Bluetooth head unit. It’s hard getting used to having cords again! Thinking of getting the newer version of the Alpine head unit I had before, which has better Bluetooth connectivity and a shorter case length.

Considered that as well, I do miss the Bluetooth functionality of the alpine unit I had before but looks wise it can’t compare to stock.

I was running an ihome cheapo cassette adapter before and it was really finicky. Researched a bit and found that the Sony CPA-7 was apparently one of the best ones made, with its production run beginning in the late 80’s and ending in the 90’s. It also has a super long aux cord compared to the cheap one. When I opened the eBay package it smelled like it’s been sitting in a pawn shop for years

Old school Sony adapter came in from fleabay today. Sounds much better than the cheapo one I was using.

Battery cables galore! Along with new fusible links and many other wiring replacements and repairs. Also just ordered a tonneau cover, will post pics of that when it is installed.

Which brand did you go with on your mounts? I used an anchor trans mount on my 90 XJ and it sagged bad, my exhaust hanger was clunking on the trans crossmember every bump. I switched to a Napa Balkamp mount which was significantly beefier and it has no sag to it.

Curious to see how the belts turn out!

Made more progress on the cables today. Need to make a minor trim to the relay cover and make a cable to the rad support, and the firewall to motor cable. Just barely have enough cable to finish this after doing the 90 XJ as well. Last but not least will be some 2ga cables for the ZJ.

What is this brown wire coming off the alternator plug supposed to go to? It was disconnected and it was charging just fine. EDIT: A bit more research seems to show that the brown wire is unused since I have a voltmeter and not an idiot light.

I reinstalled the venturi? tube back into my air filter housing. Is that a first, somebody reinstalling one of those? Lol.
