I’ve used it on aircraft to help me track down service bulletins that I know exist, but can’t find. I like using it to locate original sources of info.

Used the Comanche to help set up for a local festival where my wife was selling flowers. At the festival was a JD Model A that was supercharged. Complete with PVC tubing 🤔 must be low boost. Picked up a power steering pump that had a pulley, bracket, and pressure switch for my power steering retrofit. I’m almost done collecting parts! Power steering isn’t far off now!

My advice is to drive a 2.5. Then your 4.0 will feel great!

I’m looking for a picture of a power steering pump pulley from a 2.5 (serpentine) Anyone have some pics?

Went to Menards and got 850 lbs of retaining wall blocks. The little 2.5 and AX4 did pretty well! My left rear springs sagged noticeably more than the right. I’m sure they’re both worn out. The heavier load also confirmed that my clutch is near the end of its life. Not bad for 232k miles on what might be the original clutch! The blocks will be used to finish a retaining wall around our soon-to-be green house.

Sorry to hijack this, but are the pulleys the same? Will a pulley from the non PS bracket fit on the PS pump?

You have a pulley for a 2.5 PS pump? The one in the picture looks like an idler. I’ll take it if you have it.

I’m looking for one too. I’m retrofitting power steering to my 87 2.5. Is it a simple switch to ground? I’ve considered using a switch from a later non Renix 2.5 and splicing in a new connector. I’m not sure that the operating pressures are the same though.

Nice! Hope the rest of your training goes well. It’s a lot of work! I’ve never flown a Cheif. Champs are nice to fly and still relatively attainable as far as airplanes go.

Very good! It’s a 1945 7AC champ. My dad bought it with some friends back around 2005. It’s the first plane he ever owned, and the first plane I ever flew. He sold it in 2022, and shortly after that it was totaled in a ground loop. He bought it from the insurance company, and now we are doing a much needed full rebuild. If there’s interest, and if I have time, I may start a thread!
