Yep, thanks. I figure at the very least can use the D30, maybe the 8.25, and some nice interior pieces. I also really want a set of wheel trim rings!
-
I definitely would like to do a 4wd swap. But mainly this one has interior parts that would be nice!

I’m considering it as a parts Jeep for my Comanche. Looking for more info on it. I know it’s 1991+ since it’s an HO.

IMG_1728.mov Here’s a short video at idle.

I’m trying to solve a rich-at-idle condition with my 2.5 TBI. I’m still learning my way around this system. My question: is it normal for the injector itself to be noisy? It makes a chattering/rattling sound that I can hear from the cab while sitting at idle. I have confirmed that the sound is indeed coming from the injector, or somewhere very near it within the throttle body.

June 2026 - Porquer's 87 Sportruck
Porquer replied to 89 MJ's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
Thanks for the kind words everyone! I feel blessed to own it, and I’m enjoying learning from all of you. It’s neat to be featured this month specifically, because today is my Comanche’s build day. -
I’m starting to figure out peoples relative ages from this thread

I drove a 2003 Chevy Tracker throughout high school. Then I took it to college for one semester before selling it. Back then I had dreams of lifting it 😂

@garyweb3 where are you located? I’m in eastern Ohio.

I’m looking for parts to add power steering to my 87 2.5. Specifically a pump, reservoir, and steering box. I’m open either an XJ/MJ box or ZJ box.

I’m running 30” tires with 3.55 gears. Runs around flat ground just fine, struggles a little on the hills, but not unbearable for me. However, I don’t have overdrive.

From that plug, it looks like you’re running rich. -
Does anyone here have experience or opinions about the 2.5 to 2.8 Stroker that Titan makes? It seems like a neat idea, but I’m sure there’s a list of pros and cons…

Looks clean, but wow… that’s a lot of $$$

Replaced the front brakes this weekend. I found @WAEMID IV’s video helpful, especially with ordering the right parts. I totally spaced out and forgot to order a set of pads. Thankfully the previously installed pads still had a lot of life left. No I can use my brakes without shaking the truck apart!

Who widened your Rallye wheels? I vote Vector.

My truck came from Washington near Spokane

@ROCKNMUD I saw the keychain in one of the pictures in the marketplace add, and I hoped they would send it with the truck.

I did some probing of the o2 sensor plug. I have a good ground on pin B, 0.1-0.3 ohms. Key on, not running, I have 11v at pin A and 0v at pin C. Shouldn’t I see 5 volts from the ECU at pin C with the key on?

A friend sent me these pictures, somewhere near Spokane Washington. I’ve never seen a driving one here in Ohio, other than mine.

A few finds so far. the ground path for the IAT sensor has about 2.1 ohms of resistance. I suspect but have not confirmed that a lot of that resistance may be from the C101. I started unplugging, cleaning, and applying dielectric grease to every connector I can find under the hood. In doing so, I found that the ground pin for the ICM looks burnt. Are individual pins available for purchase? I tested the throttle closed switch at the diagnostic port with a volt meter. 0 volts at closed throttle, 5 volts when the throttle is open.
-
@eaglescout526 I read in your ISA adjustment write up that a faulty throttle closed switch can cause the engine to hunt up and down for proper idle speed. Can you explain to me why that would be? I can see my ISA constantly extending and retracting as the rpm’s alternate from high to low.

Where are the sensor grounds on the 2.5? I know about the ground strap from the engine to the fire wall, but isn’t there single place on the block where all of the sensor grounds attach?
