Here we go again! A 1986 Eagle.

Well this blows. Or sucks depending on how you want to look at it haha HVAC jokes. But no looks like the expansion valve isn’t cooperating or there’s something that’s kind of stuck. -
Getting cruise control to work again

At least we aren’t treating the connector and control module like a NES cartridge haha. -
Lines, Wires, Etc

Both I’m pretty sure. If I remember right those two numbers are halves and I clipped the two together and proceeded to modify it to the 2.5L. -

Finally pulled the trigger on a HVAC vac pump. Vacuumed down the AC last night, held good vacuum and is still holding good vacuum. I should be set to charge it and have functioning AC. -
The OSC Dump Truck (89 Sport Truck 2.5L)

That coolant bottle is probably the only thing crown makes that’s worth while. Ironically they don’t make the cap which I find incredibly odd but they’re a crappy company that doesn’t go the whole 9 yards for restoration parts. Like they have XJW headlamp bezels. That’s it. Nothing else XJW specific. But that bottle will last a long while. I had one. I think I sold it after I got a genuine NOS one -

Oh yes I do know. I used that same set up. I had to modify it and that mostly involved cutting hoses to mirror the old set up. I doubt there was anything wrong with mine but it was brittle. -
I think I had a servo fail me once. everything else was typically vacuum.
-
That one is still on eBay?! Hahahaha. We could probably make new ones for that cost.
-
Yeah it will be. All I know about the cruise system we have is that it was manufactured by Dana corporation. AMC got the special set up while everyone else got the Dana corp standard kit.

Oh ok cool. The whining could be from somewhere else but yeah it’s not a bad transmission. I haven’t had any issues with either of mine and think they’re pleasant to drive I think the only one I have issues with is my MJ and it’s 2nd gear. It doesn’t like to down shift at a certain MPH.
-
No it’s not that bad. It’s just a light duty transmission which kinda sucks. So when I destroyed my first AX5, the engine suffered no damage but sheared the input shaft right off the transmission. So if and when it goes, the engine will be fine. That being said, maybe it needs a fluid change and some royal purple. I have been running GL5 oils with no issue at all.

Score! I’ve always been curious about the aftermarket version of the tester. Yeah it’s the same but has more to it.

Replicating MJ Bumper Caps
eaglescout526 replied to White_Comanche's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Looking good!!! Now we just need bumpers to be reproduced and we would absolutely be golden! -
Haha! yup, guilty.

2.3? Do you mean the 2.5L? If so, the swap isnt worth your time for minimum power gain. And nothing from either engine swaps to each other so youll need a donor vehicle that has a manual to swap in.

The OSC Dump Truck (89 Sport Truck 2.5L)

If youre wanting to do a external slave conversion, find a 84-86 with a manual set up and youll be able to use that set up on the 87-90 bell houses just fine. I did such on my 88 MJ just fine and man do I love that swap! I thing on this will be finding the ball pivot for the clutch fork and I was able to use later year chrysler ball pivot on my 84 when I swapped to the TBI bell house also with no issues. -

Nahhh we don’t need new ones. A light sanding with 1000grit does the trick for surfacing -

I’ve got one on my XJ. May not do the most heavy of towing but it’s there. I did use it to move a car using 2wd low. That was fun. -

That key code stuff is pretty damn cool. -
Well it’s got and metal valve cover. But not enough to ask what they’re asking. Same with the 4speed. Rare but not worth it.

What Minuit knows about stock Jeep radios
eaglescout526 replied to Minuit's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
I’m wondering if I should break this thread up into a thread on what we can do with factory radios and how to fix them on our own? I found my Eagles original radio has a leaked capacitor to replace so hoping that will fix its issue of being intermittent. What do you guys think? We probably should leave this thread alone -
I need to watch that one still.

Too many to list honestly. though I’m learning that the 80’s is a great decade for films. I’m going on a kick of watching pop culture and cult classics though. I’ll also watch a certain actors filmography like John Candy.
