Vintage parts had one side and a dealer was sitting on the other side. They were under cost.

I once had the opportunity to score a whole set. Granted they were sprawled at three different dealers. One day I went to pounce and one of them was gone. Said ok I’ll just get the other three. Saw one on eBay, checked the dealer locate the next day and all were gone. Granted someone paid $60+ for them(that’s employee price mind you) and list on them was $100 so i don't know who snagged them all but there ain’t any anywhere except in pack rat garages and sheds.

That is 100% true. At one time we had a nos gm center link for a corvair that we couldn’t give away. It got tossed probably 10 years ago
