  1. I think that the bracket needs to point down, not up. The factory configuration has it down. The pictures of the aftermarket shifters have the bracket pointing up.
  2. The last vehicle I purchased new, I told the salesman you are not paying me for advertisement, so take your name off my car. That was true for license plate bracket and other dealer's name badges.
  3. Bonzo...or Bozo.
  4. I have a set of original brackets. I kept them when I switched to a Fey bumper. Krustyballer sells near-factory hitches. Check the for sale sections.
  5. I've learned not to trust the gauges. A few times the gauge was reading 20 psi while running at speed. At idle it would drop to near zero. I swapped out several clusters until I found an oil pressure gauges that reads (some what) correctly.
  6. Do you get up to MD or the mid Atlantic often? I have two AW4s. I would swap you either one for the AX15. 1st - 87 XJ, 2nd - 93 XJ. Both have bell housings.
  7. Those are called "Tow Mirrors." It was an option on some models. However, the doors came with an internal brace to support the mirror and door panel/skin. Without the brace, the wind resistance while driving could bend the door panel. Just my 2¢
  8. I would recommend somewhere on the front/main page a link directly to the Master Search Index. It doesn't have to be front-N-center, but should be up near the top so viewers don't have to scroll down to see it. Would it be possible to have a changing picture of the members' MJ? Some way have the image change every 3-5 seconds. I don't know what would be involved with writing that in. If it is too complicated, then forget it. Members could submit a photo of their MJs, either stationary or in action. We could elect to show our "names" or remain anonymous. Then the page should show links to the other forums.
  9. The owner must have listed that on all CL in the US. I see it when I search CL locally in MD. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/cto/d/1988-jeep-cherokee-comanche/6362341311.html Do I detect a scam?
  10. That is SO photoshopped! Those two would never sit that close to each other.
  11. The back up switch is a separate part on the trans. It has a two wire connector. The switch closes the circuit to feed pwr to the reverse lights. If the switch is bad, then no rev lights.
  12. The reverse light may be the back up switch on the trans. Test the switch by turning the ignition on, not running, put the gear lever in reverse. Using test light or multi meter, see if there is power going to the rev. lights. Do you have the 88 electrical wiring manual?
  13. You may have fixed your problem. If you have not already done so, go through Cruiser's Renix tips.
  14. If you get it, be sure to turn the grill right-side up
  15. A cracked exhaust manifold would trigger the lean condition with the 2 sensor - too much air getting to the O2 after combustion.
  16. If the REM is telling you the engine is Lean and in Open Loop, then either your O2 sensor is bad or possibly the O2 heater relay is bad. Swap out relays in the box on the passenger side engine compartment. Recheck the REM for Lean/Open conditions. There are instructions on testing the O2 sensor as well. Use the meter to test that before swapping parts.
  17. “A fool and his money are soon parted.” PT Barnum (I think)
  18. I am sooooo jealous!
  19. CPS? If it is bad, then it sends no signal to the ECU. The ECU sends no spark.
  20. What transmission? if its a BA10, it may not be worth fixing. Shift forks broken? does it make noise when shifting?
  21. The OP has not replied to all our posts. He also posted the same question on JeepForum and has not replied on there.
  22. I had wasted my money - I mean spent money - on the left panel. The opening for the wheel well was not stamped for the flares. Save your money, especially after shipping. There is a thread on CC where a member cut the wheel well from an XJ to reshape the MJ wheel well.
  23. There is/was an 86 in a local JY that had a column shift auto with PRNDL on the column. It had a 2 spoke steering wheel but also had cruise. I don't remember if it was tilt.
  24. Check out this website for info on Renix sensors: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm
  25. Is that a D35? Yeah, that is scary.
