  1. The reverse light may be the back up switch on the trans. Test the switch by turning the ignition on, not running, put the gear lever in reverse. Using test light or multi meter, see if there is power going to the rev. lights. Do you have the 88 electrical wiring manual?
  2. You may have fixed your problem. If you have not already done so, go through Cruiser's Renix tips.
  3. If you get it, be sure to turn the grill right-side up
  4. A cracked exhaust manifold would trigger the lean condition with the 2 sensor - too much air getting to the O2 after combustion.
  5. If the REM is telling you the engine is Lean and in Open Loop, then either your O2 sensor is bad or possibly the O2 heater relay is bad. Swap out relays in the box on the passenger side engine compartment. Recheck the REM for Lean/Open conditions. There are instructions on testing the O2 sensor as well. Use the meter to test that before swapping parts.
  6. “A fool and his money are soon parted.” PT Barnum (I think)
  7. I am sooooo jealous!
  8. CPS? If it is bad, then it sends no signal to the ECU. The ECU sends no spark.
  9. What transmission? if its a BA10, it may not be worth fixing. Shift forks broken? does it make noise when shifting?
  10. The OP has not replied to all our posts. He also posted the same question on JeepForum and has not replied on there.
  11. I had wasted my money - I mean spent money - on the left panel. The opening for the wheel well was not stamped for the flares. Save your money, especially after shipping. There is a thread on CC where a member cut the wheel well from an XJ to reshape the MJ wheel well.
  12. There is/was an 86 in a local JY that had a column shift auto with PRNDL on the column. It had a 2 spoke steering wheel but also had cruise. I don't remember if it was tilt.
  13. Check out this website for info on Renix sensors: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Engine/Basic_Sensors_Diagnostics.htm
  14. Is that a D35? Yeah, that is scary.
  15. Check out "NickintimeFilms" on fakebook. He sells a Renix Engine Monitor (REM) that will help you diagnose sensor problems with the Renix. The REM's work for 2.5 and 4.0 and auto and manuals.
  16. Sorry about that, Chief. I had to get my 17 YO daughter to help me fix it.
  17. https://www.facebook.com/groups/FredCoMdJeepNetwork/1591065060959816/ Saw this on an Jeep Fakebook page. Hedgesville is in the eastern panhandle of WV - FYI
  18. If he is not doing computer programming, then he is missing his calling. He could go work for the Gov'ment. There's an agency at Ft. Meade, MD we like to call No Such Agency. They're always looking for people with technology skills.
  19. The issue is fixed. Thanks, Alexia.
  20. It really bugs me to see this. Your grill is upside-down.
  21. Thx for everyone's input. I thought this looked "cool." But, like many things, the novelty would wear off over time. (I would find a setting I liked and leave it there.) The seats, however, are in nice condition. The interior is dark maroon/plaid. (Anyone want rockers?)
  22. I am trying to include a picture in "messaging." The "drag file" is not an option in that section. (I see it below in this screen.)
  23. I'm about 5'10". I have a headliner, also. So, did the swap require much modifying? (I may try it. Find I don't like it. Swap back to MJ.) I don't want to change my current MJ seat then find out I can't go back.
  24. Hi. My name is Tim. (Hi, Tim.) I'm a idiot when it comes to computers. (That's OK.) I cannot figure out how to upload pictures to CC now the PB has begun extorting $ from us. HELP!
  25. A few weeks ago I scored an 87 XJ Laredo; fully loaded. While pulling parts today, I realized the front seats are sliders/rockers. I know I have to switch floor brackets, but can I swap my existing MJ seats on to the rocker and bolt this to the floor brackets. So, from top-to-bottom would be MJ seat/XJ rocker/MJ bracket. I want to keep the MJ tilt forward seat. I have done a search on CC but cannot fine the exact answer.
