Interesting, looks like it came out good. Time to smoke the tires now Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Short answer: No. Long answer: No. Especially not if "road" includes rain or snow or ice. I guess everyone has they're driving preferences. I have cooper stt on the jeep and it does fine for me on the road and off (dry/wet/snow- studs or chains are the only way for ice). In fact, I prefer a mud tire where I live due to the fact we get a ton of rain and I don't like hydroplaning. In my experience going from the les Schwab "avon" brand AT tire to a procomp extreme mud terrain years ago, I had much improved wet weather traction and I could hardly break them free from a stop.. literally. On my ford I have a somewhat agressive at, the cooper st maxx. Again the large tread voids let me blaze thru standing water without a hitch. Tho they have 40k on them now and a little less than half life, the accelerating from a dead stop spiritedly will spin them, but normal driving is good. Come this fall I'll be putting on the stt pro Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

How to install a Floor Pan.
cody4359 replied to WolverineCub's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Depending on your rust issue, to do it to right you would drill the spot welds and remove the brace. I was able to salvage brace and put it back over the new pan. It's a complete pain in the asss Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
I browsed that info, I wish they would have done lizzard skin to. I may return what I bought and try something specific for heat, from DEI Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I advise anyone to stay away from the asphalt based products like fatmat. I did the floor, rear of cab and roof in my mj. Possibly helped a Tiny bit, but after the heat has gotten to it I have runs all over from the asphalt melting. I'm in the process of pulling all of that crap out and getting it immaculate so I can spray in lizzard skin sound deadener and the lizzard skin ceramic in hopes of cutting down on the heat from the tranny. I don't know if the dynamat being butyl will remove easier, but I fully regret the fatmat move and hope that the lizzard skin proves to be better Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I've been meaning to do the Durango mc upgrade. If you wanting to keep the mj and make it a 4 seater, look up trate_daniels on instagram. He has one of the cleanest and functional rigs in my opnion Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -

Griots garage by me always has McClaren's, Ferrari's, Lamborginis etc saw this at a auction a few weeks ago. Sold for 12k street legal, 2 stroke and runs up to 8k rpm. Kinda some cool history behind it Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

I forget who makes mine. I thought daystar did but I couldn't find them. They just go inside the coil spring. I afe some mounts but never put them in Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

If your feeling rich lol. I'd opt to put money in the new rig. I habe a new f150 and the power, room and comfort make it hard for me to spend more time in the heep on asphalt. Heck even logging roads I prefer the f150 on 10 ply tires lol Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Control Arms/sway bar discos
cody4359 replied to zomeizter's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It's been abut 6 years since I bought mine and going of what I thought I paid. For the short amount of time I had the jeep after the brackets I loved it. Wish I could compare it to my 3 linkni now, but for $160 I wouldn't hesitate to grab a set. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
Control Arms/sway bar discos
cody4359 replied to zomeizter's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The more lift you get the steeper the angles will be... drop brackets are about $400 if I recall. I had them on my old xj with 4.5" lift with stock uppers and I don't rember if I had stock lower arms or not. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -

I think I read the po settled on a non relay setup. initially I wanted to do a relayed setup but gave up after not long. I have a friend that wires up police car goodies and he sent me a link for what they use, which was basically a timer that could be set to keep power to the fuse block for up to 30 min after the ignition was turned off, if I remember right. it was also $200-300 so I discarded that idea. I did a blue sea box, and a circuit breaker so I wouldn't have to carry extra fuses, that would have just raised the price of a fuse setup to a circuit breaker. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

ya, if I was a small operation I'd build to order for the rear bumpers, tho the front are the same as cherokee's. on a side note, I'd do my best to not leave people hanging without a response weeks to months on end. for the dirtbound kit I made some 1" shackle mounts to replace the 1/2 or 3/4 that was supplied and I user my old jcr tie in brackets that you use to get for free on black Friday orders but they now charge an arm an a leg for. my plans for the diy was to make it a hidden winch setup but I didn't have a winch to mock up and was lazy so I did the normal kit. dirtbound said they were thinking of trying to make a diy hidden winch setup. Spare tire area fuel tank.
cody4359 replied to Dill30705's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the po of my heep had a 97+ xj tank mounted in the spare location and cut a hole in the bed floor for the filler neck. I've since changed it but still have the mounting bar between the unibody rails Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk -
I've never heard anything good about nates service in the 5 or 6 years I've had my comanche. diy kits aren't a bad option, I did a jcr diy rear bumper on mine years ago and a few months ago did a dirtbound offroad diy mojave. saves a little cash but be prepared to spend a day and a half or so welding, grinding, and pearl disking. I'm not an operator but I've worked on a few co-gens and 1 hydro turbine. gassers are fun but I want to do a few more hydros. the last 6 years I've mostly been at oil refinerys working recip compressors. here I learned of boom deflection a little later pulling the pickel of a 285 mega watt generator about 7 years ago Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
