    Got another one

Because I have no need for 5 cars, the reasonable thing to do would be to sell it and use the money to fix up my other 2 MJ's. But now that I have driven it, theres NO WAY I'm gonna sell it before I have to!! Looks like the volvo will be up for sale soon instead... Me for the first time in over a year --------> You realize you are telling 'jimoshel' that 5 cars are too much. Jim's collection of vehicles can be seen from space. Image Not Found
  2. The upper end of these door handles go in and out of the clip at a 90* angle from the final install position. Rotate the lower end upward, push the stud into the clip, and then rotate the handle back to "lock" the stud into the clip. Secure with the long screws through the handle.

  4. The most common, high quality spacer is Spidertrax 1.25". They are hub-centric and, if you go to their website, you'll find "blemish" sets for sale for about $20 less which do not sacrifice quality or performance.
  5. Or buy this one from the "For Sale" post. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=36098
  6. XJ doors are the exact same door. Should be a direct swap. 84-96!! Disregard
  7. I measured one I have sitting on saw horses in the backyard from brake assembly flange to flange is 54 3/4" (outside edge). From that flange to the wheel hub is another 3" on each side, totaling 60 3/4". I'm not sure how to measure axle width but I hope this helps.
  8. Yeah, our dogs were skittish when the locals started popping off close to the house. However, in perspective, you nor I didn't fair too poorly. Watching the news for the past couple days concerning large areas along the Eastern Seaboard where a big storm came through and knocked out power to vast numbers of people just as record high temperatures decided to stay a few days, including through the 4th of July. Now those folks are most likely having a miserable time and I hope the emergency crews can get them some power in the near future.
  9. PM sent with a question.
  10. I''ll remove the one from the 86 tomorrow and PM you for negotiations.
  11. I have the 86 as a parts truck and will check the tail light harness tomorrow. If it looks OK I'll PM you for negotiations.
  12. I have the same "tick" in my 4.0 and will be biting the bullet pretty soon to find out what it is. The other noise can be narrowed down using a rubber hose or stethoscope to listen for the exact location and take it from there.
  13. Yes. I have one from my BA/10 and two from a AX15 and all have different bends in them so I swapped them around to see which one was most comfortable in the cab.
  14. The 87 probably has 4:10 gears and originally had 195/75/15 or 205/75/15 tires. To be certain, you need to check the differential for stamping or count the gears. The object next to the air box is the EGR solenoid and that plastic line runs to a nipple on the EGR valve under the the intake body. This vacuum line needs to be attached for your engine to run properly. I can't remember which side the BA/10 fill plug is on.
  15. I think it looks good too except his plates say "MY XJ". :dunno:

  17. I don't think it's the truck price but the motor, trans, and T-case.

  19. Go for the 3.4 and get some extra horses!
  20. It's attached by friction. They come apart but not easily. You should remove the whole shifter from the top of the tranny and use a wooden dowel or block, placed against the upper shaft, and strike the wood with a hammer to separate the the two sections. Use a vice to hold the lower section but protect it from getting scratched or damaged. This is the inside of the upper section:

    I hate theives

Visit the nearest scrap yard and explain to a manager what was taken and sold as scrap. If they are an honest place, the workers might remember or have records of who sold it. In CA, identification is required to sell to a scrap yard.
  23. I still get confused sometimes. Mountain climbers who tamp their feet into the snow wear crampons but women with cramps wear tampons. Mongo only pawn in game of life.
