OldSch88L 's crooked 1988 Comanche
JMO413 replied to OldSch88L's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I looked for along time for a Comanche anywhere near me. I think mine was destined to find me. Not many people are okay with a hole in the frame and plenty ofrust. It was black with gray interior and a 5 speed. It was love at first sight. I am just now realizing how rare it is. Pioneer with buckets, full console, the skid plate package, tilt, cruise, intermintant wipers, and full cluster. Exactly how I would have ordered it in 88. -

Iowa junk yard are crazy expensive compared to the prices I see everyone taking about on here. I wish there was a pull a part around here. All of them near me want to pull the parts and charge a fortune. -

That is a nice looking truck. I'm a sucker for black with gray interior. You don't see allot of black Comanche for some reason. -
Agreed. The only Comanche I have seen in a long time is mine.

The plot that weaves in and out is awesome. I also remember the Matrix blowing my mind the first time.

DrComanches Project "Frankenstein"

I like the bolt down rail covers. Easy access later. I may do that when I redo my floor. I think my inner rockers are definitely going to look like yours also. I patched them on my XJ and won't do that again. Total replacement with stronger metal just seems appropriate.- 146 replies

You made quick work of the explorer. Just have to ask, did you drive it after you voted all the extra off. That is going to be one fine truck!

I think you would sell them all. I think the rust belt must have completely ate the MJ's and manual XJ's. -
That is a good looking truck. If it's really as clean as the pictures make it look. I would guess he gets close to that out of it. It's is Craigslist I would guess cash in hand might help the price. Hope it finds a good home.

Thank you! It has been allot of work but I do love this little truck. -
Had some time finally and it wasn't below zero. Finally installed my hitch from krustyballer. It is a very nice addition to the old girl. Looks great powder coated matt black. Thrilled to have a great hitch. Krustyballer makes a very very nice hitch. Finally a recovery point when I get her stuck! I also replaced the EGR valve. I'm not sure if it was working right but it thought it was a duck. It literally made a noise that can only be described as a quack. I was surprised that all three parts stores in town didn't show the EGR valve available. They also all showed not available online. I finally found one from pepboys online. I also readjusted the parking brake. It's was a good day.

This hitch is awesome! Great quality work! Very heavy duty. Shipped quick. He takes packaging serious. I got it powder coated matt black. Got the two leaf spring bolts started first. Started two bolts on the passenger side. Trimmed the Fey brackets to get them to fit with the hitch. Bumper brackets are a tight fit. Fits good. Overall amazing hitch. Did require washers between the hitch and frame on the spring bolts. Pretty sure this is beacuse of the Fey brackets. Jeep hitch plug to finish it off. Thank you for making an awesome product krustyballer!!
