Hi. Things have changed a bit in my personal life, but I'm still above ground! Cara Elizabeth Marsh was born on Sept 28th, 2015. A Healthy & Cute baby girl, the blue MJ moveed one step further down the line of important aspects of my life that day...

So where is "the great white north"?

How much is it worth to you? I just saw an AMC one in a yard a few days ago and it's belt was black. Truck was pretty rusty, I'm guessing it would MAYBE take some time with a portable impact to pull it. Might be a few weeks before I can make it back to that yard... PM me and we can discuss.

Wish I had a dollar for each time that happened to me. Usually at the gas station... -
I'd bet it's last social event was an under age drunk party. Give it some love, looks like a good Jeep under all of the glass shards!

I'm guessing you're talking about the proportioning block, it's not really a valve from what I understand of it... I've always had the best luck by removing it to do the modification. In the rust belt, removing it is usually done when we replace our rear brake line thanks to it rusting through... I did this long ago on my '88 and last year on my '90, it wasn't too bad for either one. Get a set of flare nut wrenches for the brake lines, remove the air cleaner box, and you're ready to do the job!

Wondering if anything got resolved here with the contact that I provided?

Are you able to drill the old hole larger and tap it for a larger bolt? That would be my first choice to repair it. -
They are still my favorite but I've got an inside man there to help me with any issues I have, my old neighbor and good friend works in customer service there. I've only had one issue with them, where I got a gently used part, and I was shipped the correct part, new and free right away. I use them all the time. Out of at least 50 purchases, I've only had a few issues with the quality of the parts, (got some bad Gates Trans Cooler lines and a bad TYC starter). Neither instance was RA's fault because they don't manufacture the parts and I probably would've gotten the same part elsewhere, paying more for it anyway. I only go to advanced auto/local stores for the basic-need them today-items or when they have good sales. I love the selection of the different part manufacturers that rockauto has! Sorry to hear about a bad first experience. I will PM you my friend's RA email address and if you'd like to contact him to work through the issue, I'm sure he'd be happy to help!

97 swap fuel tank suggestions
500 MJ replied to ddodd10's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You should be able to use the stock MJ tank? Even when swapping engines etc, the only thing that would MAYBE need to be swapped would be the fuel pump in the tank to accommodate different pressures? 97+ front sheet metal has nothing to do with the fuel tank? If you need to get a new aftermarket tank, Spectra Premium makes them and a number of online stores carry them. -
The benches that were in the column shift automatic trans trucks did not have the middle "indent" like the maroon one in that other thread does. That indent is for the seat to be used in a manual trans or auto trans on the floor truck with the small trans console. I've got a column shift auto truck, my bench is straight across too!

http://comancheclub.com/topic/49484-bunch-of-stuff-from-an-88-with-a-25-in-kansas/ Take a look in this thread for a pic, I think you do already have an MJ bench...

Looks like it was just the bottom that was used from an XJ... The back is definitely an MJ piece.
-
Does the job for stock replacement... Bought a swb tailpipe last year and some XJ pieces earlier. Minor fitment issues that worked just fine as they were, but my perfectionist mind needed to correct when doing the job...

Another anomoly ('86 MJ)
500 MJ replied to onlyinajeep726's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Install long arms, remove LCAs and cut the UCAs off! Unbolt the driveshaft, unbolt the trans mount and see if moving/jacking the engine and trans horizontally, side to side, gives enough clearance to remove the bolt? -
"Worlds Fastest Comanche" Peter Lechtanski 1952 - 2016
500 MJ replied to Automan2164's topic in The Pub
Very sad news. I remember the meet and greet we had a few years ago when we all met Peter and he took us to his place to show us the truck. Peter was a very kind and great guy, this is very sad news!- 21 replies

The only way I'd roll with a plastic drop in liner is if I had a topper on the truck. I took the plastic factory "COMANCHE" liner out of my 88 as soon as I bought it and found years of crud built up under it. The truck never had a topper on it. I blasted the bed clean at the pressure washer and didn't put the liner back in. I kept the liner in the woods for a few years and then gave it away to a fellow member! Don't get me wrong, they serve a purpose. I still have that tailgate protector and its installed on my 90 :) Just be aware before you put any liner in a truck that doesn't have the bed sealed off from the elements...

Looks like a solid one to start with!

Is the pump the same as one from a 4.0L, just different mounting brackets? I can probably help if you don't need the brackets...

when i get caught up here in a month or so ill start looking at this bumper. there will probably be this version, a winch version and possibly a "hidden winch" version. Let me know if you need any measurements for that front bumper. It's an old JCR OFFROAD one, I have the bumper (with no hoop) on my MJ.- 197 replies
