  1. I saw that too. The wings on them are very strong as they have bracing inside that goes down to the lower quarter panel. If my memory serves correctly, the wings are designed to support somewhere around 1200 lbs.
  2. Hurricane Desert or Tundra?
  3. As a midwesterner now in AZ, MOUNTAINS!!!! Skim or whole milk?
  4. Lots of valuable Wagoneer specific parts there.
  5. The add is incorrect, it’s actually a short bed. I think that may be a J-truck rollbar that’s been narrowed.
  6. I'm hoping to get another truck when the prices start dropping. Of course, a chrome rear bumper would be a good find too.
  7. Well that's someone who I haven't seen post in a while. Good to hear from you again
  8. You could run an 8.8 out of a Ford Explorer Sport Trac. It is the same width, or maybe a little wider, than the MJ rear axle, has either 3.73 or 4.10 gears, but has drum brakes. Why are you opposed to drums? They aren't that difficult to work on and have more stopping power than discs. Their only drawback is more brake fade, but that shouldn't be a huge issue unless you live in a place where you are on the brakes a lot.
  9. Raptor liner is great stuff. Affordable and durable product.
  10. IMHO, anyone that would potentially want an 86 XJ would either know how to drive a manual, or would be open to learning. I'd also be concerned about it being a bit gutless having the auto behind it. To me, it doesn't seem worth the work, but I also do understand your intentions behind doing it. Sorry I'm no help on the TCU question.
  11. That's one heck of a save right there!
  12. I agree! It is a great hobby to get into, regardless of the degree that people decide to take it too.
  13. Ah shoot, I was looking at the pic on my phone and it looked like 6. Some good stories with them. My brother has a few guitars with cool stories and he has a couple of basses that I occasionally play too. For the most part I stick with my violins and mandolins. My nicest violin is actually one that my 5th great-grandfather brought here from Germany when he immigrated. It was built in 1721, IIRC.
  14. That 6 string bass is pretty sweet!
  15. @gogmorgo also has a 5 speed ZJ. They’re pretty cool!
  16. They are a neat car! Uglier than sun with the top up though. I’d still love to have one in my collection.
  17. Is it rusty or are you ending it because of the mechanical issues. If it’s solid, I think you’d be better off selling it whole.
  18. I love that you put PVC on there! I’m sure not a lot of catch it, but those who do probably get a laugh out of it.
  19. My truck was from Florida and I didn’t escape the rust either. Some wheel arch work, floors, and part of one rocker. The other rocker and one cab corner was replaced due to damage.
  20. Yes it does. The way I look at it, your time is worth something too. You’re going to have time in making the patch, trimming it to size, welding it in, and grinding it smooth before you can start bodywork. Plus, you should also sandblast it and coat it once you do get it opened up because there is going to be more rust in there. And when you blast the bottom of the door, it doesn’t look like much will be left.
  21. I would just get a whole new door (84-96) and be done with it. I think that door is going to be much worse once you open it up.
  22. Oh shoot. I should’ve paid closer attention
  23. @pago cruiser, did you see these?
  24. I’ve seen that. I suppose, if you want to play, you’ve got to pay
  25. Let’s be honest, it would just about be a miracle if the inspectors don’t spell Comanche with either to “m”s or 2 “e”s.
