how many miles on your truck's factory engine?

You should post that in this thread too, if you haven’t already. -

Auto Custom Carpets makes them. They are cheapest on Rock Auto. The fit is pretty good.

It is unfortunate that we are losing a replacement piece for these. I wouldn't be surprised if another manufacturer starts making these up again at some point since so many other pieces for these trucks are starting to get reproduced.

1975 Brutally Simple Daily Driver

Other than the increased load it would put on everything, is there any reason that you decided to put the spare on the passenger side instead of the driver side? I would think that it would interfere with vision more on the passenger side when you turn your head to look out the back. -
I would tow 5,000 pounds with my AX-15 truck. I have 4.10 gears though. For me to tow that much on the road for an extended period of time, it would have to have trailer brakes and I probably wouldn’t exceed 60 mph.

I agree with everyone else. With the clear side marker lenses, 21 slot, and the visor, it looks a lot like a Razor grille J-truck.

I get it there, these trucks are great. How feasible is it to import one from the US and keep yours as a parts truck?
-
You absolutely could fix it, but by the time you account for the time you have invested in it, you would exceed its value in America, at least. If the truck runs well, I personally would try to find a solid shell and swap all of your drivetrain into it.

AX-15 Swap (T-Case input gear question)
89 MJ replied to USFSOFFICIAL's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Where at in AZ? I think you’ll be able to salvage it, but if you can get it apart and post more pictures, that would be great. Regardless, you should be able to use the 23 spline input shaft in the 21 spline t-case to make it 23 spline. -
1986 MJ “CJ” (Cheap Jeep)

That may have the piece that you need, if they are interchangeable between the distributors. I know Eagles with the 258 used Duraspark. This Concord might too. -
AX-15 Swap (T-Case input gear question)
89 MJ replied to USFSOFFICIAL's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You should be able to take your input shaft out of the AX-15 231 and install it in the BA10/5 231, but you will have to take both t-cases all the way apart. What do you mean the t-case is rusted? Please post pictures of the t-case. -
That's looking great!

Do you have the VIN number of the truck? We would be able to look it up in the registry that way.

You'll sure have your hands full for a while with that many axle builds! -
Wow! This picture is stunning. The chrome, the visor, the lift, and the wheel and tire setup is perfect.

Is he a new driver or something? How's this project been going? I'm sure the MJs are a lot more fun.

This is my parents' latest project. It's a 2017 Sierra double cab (shorter 4 door cab) with a 6.5' bed and a 5.3. It has the 6 passenger cloth interior with heated seats and the Z71 package. It's nothing special as a truck really. They bought it hit in the right front and bought it to become a new work truck for them since their 04 Suburban is getting rusty and their 00 Silverado plow truck has the floor, rocker panel, and cab corner delete and a rusty frame. How they got the truck (the right rear door was in the bed): It really didn't need much. It needed some suspension work, the passenger rocker panel, a bumper, a fender, 2 wheels, and a passenger door, plus some straightening of the right rear door and some little plastic odds and ends. Next to grandpa's 40. It's crazy how big these trucks have gotten. New rocker panel going on: I believe they have the bodywork all finished on the cab, but I don't recall. I'm 1700 miles away, but I'll be going home in about 2.5 weeks and they are hoping to have it done by then.

He has made more progress on the truck the last few weeks. Firstly, back when we went to Kenosha, he picked up a much nicer headliner and AC ducts. I honestly don't recall if he put the headliner in, but he sent me pictures of the AC ducting installed. He does need to find some vents for them though. He also went through the family parts stash (at this point, its just a collection of leftover parts that were still good that were removed from parts cars or whatever else. It is shared between my parents, my brother, my cousin, and myself, and it was shared by my grandpa) and found a set of arm rests from my 85 Eagle parts car. As you can see from the old outline, they aren't the same shape as the J10 armrests, but they did fit, so he installed them since he was missing a J10 one. I'm surprised we kept them for so long, they were brown and I wouldn't have figured we ever would've used them. I'm glad they did get used though. He still has work to do on the interior. He has some wiring to clean up, needs to clean the door panels, install the headliner if he hasn't yet, get some carpet, but it's getting close. The only major part he needs to acquire is a bed. Everything else is relatively minor. Also, check out those floors. If that doesn't make a guy jealous, I don't know what does. And it was a Wisconsin truck its whole life! Rustproofing and 64,000 actual miles really saved this truck
