  1. Looking good so far! Should be a good truck when you get it done.
  2. That one took me a minute to figure out. Apparently that song turns 40 this year.
  3. I haven’t seen that video yet, but I love the channel! The brutal honesty is hilarious and a refreshing change from societal norms.
  4. I ran a 94 Ranger tonneau cover on mine for a while that fit pretty well. Otherwise, I’ve heard Colorado and Tacoma stuff fits too.

    Bench seat

If I had a set of blue buckets and a blue center console, they’d go in my truck right away. I found buckets to be more comfortable when I had my other trucks, plus I’d like center console storage. Sure, the middle seat is nice, but it’s not great with a 5 speed. If I need to haul more than me and 1 other person, I’ll take the Eagle anyways.
  6. That is great!
  7. Bed corners for LWB and SWB and front bed section for SWB
  8. A GM 3.1/3.4 is a bolt in swap for the 2.8, FWIW
  9. I hope so. I want a set of chrome trimmed for my truck
  10. They said they’re in the test fitting stage. That’s all I’ve got right now. Per their Facebook

    Opinions?

Plus wear ball joints a lot quicker.
  12. Any progress yet Jake? This truck is going to be pretty cool when its finished.
  13. Sportbar, hands down black bumpers and grille or chrome?
  14. I'd have to pick water skiing. I don't like the cold. For a steak: rare, medium rare, or medium?
  15. If you have the external slave bellhousing already, you might as well install it.
  16. These are pics from my build thread. Hopefully some of them will help you out, they are the only ones that I think I have.
  17. I wish I could say that I missed that, but we're due for 79 tomorrow. My poor Comanche is still up north for now though. There have been a couple of days back in the fall that Wisconsin was warmer than it was here.
  18. With 33s, I’d run 4.10s or 4.56s. Those will still give you plenty of ability to do 70 and it will make the truck seem less like a dog.
  19. It’s 68 and sunny in Tucson, if that makes any of you feel better. Really though, this is why I left Wisconsin.
  20. I’d say cut that section out of an XJ and weld it in or include it with the sale. It can be fixed with a lot of measurements and welding.

Misc- I couldn’t find an original short bed rollbar so I bought one from an old Toyota, cut it up, added 3” tube here and there and made my own. I used frame mounts I bought from a CC member. https://comancheclub.com/topic/66508-roll-bar-refit/ Best MJ story- I love small, old 80’s trucks and I have wanted a Comanche forever but could never find one that wasn’t rusted beyond help. As a last ditch attempt I set a notification for a saved Craigslist search that ran for years and on a random Friday afternoon a few years ago I got a hit that was only 30 minutes from my house on a Comanche I had never seen around. (In fairness I had only ever seen two others on the road). The transmission was shot but he only wanted $2500 as he was moving out of state soon. I didn’t hesitate, left work early and was the first one there. The seller said his phone had been blowing up. He started the truck and began showing me around it, but after about 2 minutes I told him to save his time… “I’m buying your truck right now mister”. I had the transmission rebuilt and adjusted the brake switch that controls the torque converter (which may have been what burnt up the transmission. Or it could have been the 323,000 miles on the truck) and it’s been a dream to own ever since. I constantly get comments and red light conversations when I drive it, I’ve caught people taking its photo when it’s parked and in traffic…and I live in a town full of exotic Lamborghinis and Ferraris. CC is Awesome! Why? - first off, it’s the only dedicated Comanche forum. It’s not a watered down sub forum on another Jeep site and therefore it’s overflowing with knowledgeable Comanche owners who are there solely for sharing their Comanches and their first hand info with other Comanche owners. Info that is very specific to Comanches. I have owned 12 other Jeeps, mostly SWB; everything from MB, CJ, YJ, XJ, TJ and JK but this is my first MJ. Where else would I go to learn about melted electrical connectors, the need to reground everything, how to save time by not replacing the fuel pump with anything but an OEM pump, where to find parts, as well as seeing and reading about so many cool surviving Comanches all throughout America? Plus there’s a lot of very cool and funny characters on here! Beautiful truck, Scotty! Thanks for the submission and excellent pictures! Fun fact, when I was building my truck, which was originally white, I wanted to do this same color and stripe combination. It looks great!
  22. My truck was a cigarette lighter delete truck. Odd since it’s a 4.0 with 4x4.
  23. I sold an internal slave AX-15 for $250. That’s all that I think it is worth if it is just the transmission without the transfer case.
