    WTB Fender Flares

    @Limeyjeeper has some OEM ones.
  2. Does it have a fuel pump or is it gravity fed? Some pictures of the fuel line at the carb would help determine that. I’d guess that the diaphragm on the fuel pump gave up the ghost and it pumped fuel into the crankcase.

We had a good sized group and she was toward the back. Coming down a trail that switch backs down a mountain she says that there is a stick through the sidewall of a tire. I run up the trail and throw the spare on. I run back to the Samurai and don't get a quarter mile before she says there is another stick through the side wall of another tire. She blew two tires within a hundred yards. I threw a bunch of patches in the sidewall and it held for the rest of the weekend. Duratracs suck! CC is Awesome! Why? Because of Comanches. Does it need any other reason? It is good to see that you're back around, Reson! Congratulations!
  4. Bed mounts are finalized, narrowed factory tailgate is installed, and a rear bumper has been modified to fit. Its been a productive couple of days for him. So we have this straight, its a Jeep pickup, with a GM engine, transmission, and transfer case with a Ford bed and a JKU tube rear bumper. So a little bit of everything
  5. Looks like a D30 front and a D44 rear to me.
  6. Gears, a high altitude CPS (advances timing 5 degrees), and a bored TB.
  7. Bump, still looking
  8. More updates! Bed mounts are added and the frame is painted. He had to add a 1 inch body lift to get all of the body lines to line up on the truck, but that's okay because he wants to run 35s and this will help with clearance. He and my dad also primed his OEM bed that he is going to sell. He did find that with minor trimming (it needed to be narrowed), his stock Jeep tailgate will work with the stepside bed.

    Inspiration.

Ummm, fix the wiring and use it as is? Maybe do a 4x4 swap. No sense in sticking a bunch of money into it if it works as is and isn't rusty. Then look for options you want to add down the road.
  10. I love the ones from @Dzimm I’ve got on my truck. Been on for a couple years and haven’t shown any signs of wear yet.

Funny, my truck is an original Florida truck that has made its way to Wisconsin.

Where are you located now? I’m just a couple miles north in Holmen.
  13. A few more posts and the classifieds will open up to you. You either need 1 or 6 more posts, I don't remember right now.
  14. A trailer brake controller is definitely on my list of things to add to my truck too. With the 4.0 and 4.10s, its got plenty of pulling power, but not as much stopping power as I would like.
  15. He also fixed the frame rust and added a new rear crossmember because the stock one was all messed up because it had some terrible "custom" bumper brackets on it. The rear spring hanger mounts are for a 1990s Ford Ranger, IIRC. The stock spring hangar has the shackle pointed upwards and is cup shaped, so it traps dirt and moisture, leading to rust. These should fix that issue, and it allowed him to lift the rear up a little more. New crossmember. The pieces of tubing that go crossmember to crossmember and are parallel to the frame rails are to support the K5 Blazer tank.
  16. Well, he found a decent deal on a mid 80s Ford stepside bed that is from down south that he decided to try to put on his truck. It probably wasn't the route I would've went on it, but it should look good once he puts his Jeep fender flares on it. He has to do some trimming to get it to sit right. Some CAD (cardboard aided design) to see what it will look like with the Jeep widetrack flares on it.
  17. That would be really cool! Hotwheels is making an XJ right now, maybe a Comanche is in their future. We can hope at least.
  18. Matchbox Eagles! This is a car that they made for the 70th anniversary this year. One is going to stay in the package for sure, one is going to get opened and painted to match my car, and I'm unsure what the plan with the third one is.
  19. Yes, according to the FB post, preorders get 20% off. I posted what will end up being the real prices later.
  20. I saw that after posting it
  21. I know nothing about this, I just saw it on FB. Looks like tinted ones will be $320 and non tinted will be $300. Not too bad, IMO. https://www.oraclelights.com/products/groupbuy-oracle-lighting-jeep-comanche-mj-led-tail-lights?fbclid=IwAR1SGJiryZL0zuuk5lTFkcVdDkg7gQj9pLGds8UFsLVdg86NxnHGOdF5_Ck

Good looking truck. What are the plans with it? It may also be time to update that sig...
  23. Similar to scguy's comment, 21 slot grilles and Wagoneer header panels are worth pulling. Probably any chrome front end pieces too. As are XJ Wagoneer taillights.
